On the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, just 3.5 miles from Aberdyfi, this is a unique and welcoming retreat for large groups. The cottages sit in their own separate grounds and benefit from access to a privately owned stretch of shoreline, shared with the owners' small, laidback boatyard. A pathway runs through the boatyard to a slipway and slate beach, ideal for paddling, wild swimming or launching SUP's, canoes and boats, especially around slack tide when the current ease. The foreshore is mostly slate, revealing sand as the tide falls. Birdwatchers will enjoy the wading birds and the nearby reserve. The setting offers wide Dyfi estuary views, spectacular sunsets, and as part of a Dark Sky Reserve, excellent stargazing prospects. Enjoy the harbour village of Aberdyfi, with pastel-coloured cottages, sandy beaches, independent shops, and eateries. Outdoor enthusiasts can access the Wales Coast Path, a local 18-hole championship golf course, and the surrounding peaks and trails. Nearby highlights include Cader Idris (14.5 miles), Dyfi Bike Park (8.5 miles), Dolgoch Falls (13 miles) and the historic Talyllyn Railway (7.5 miles).

The larger of the two holiday homes is the hub for socialising and relaxing together. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner features original arched windows, a large table for meals, sofas around a wood burner, a TV and DVD player. There is a well-equipped kitchen with large American-style fridge/freezer and a range cooker. You'll find two cloakrooms and two shower rooms alongside three bedrooms on the ground floor. These include one with a king-size four-poster bed and patio doors, a twin room overlooking the rear gardens, and a cosy bunk room. The first-floor houses two charming double bedrooms and a family bathroom with shower over the bath. A few meters from the first building is the smaller yet equally delightful, second property. Perfect for those seeking some privacy from the larger group, this cottage has a homely feel, with timber beams and original painted stone walls. On the ground floor there's a conservatory-style entrance hall, a twin room with garden access, shower room, and a cosy living/kitchen space with door onto the rear courtyard. Complete with wood burner, sofa, and compact kitchen with gas cooker and fridge, and a table for four. Upstairs you'll find a welcoming double. Please note the windows in this bedroom are directly adjacent to the roadside (the road rises up the hill past the first floor).

The properties enjoy enclosed surroundings with a natural feel. The cottages are surrounded by patches of wildflowers, shrubs and trees, set against the distinctive backdrop of a slate quarry and an oak-clad hillside. There's an enclosed courtyard with seating accessed via the cottage, or the front garden with grass and clover lawn, patio with long tables and a trolley BBQ. The sheltered rear garden offers a secluded retreat with a seating area and fire pit. There is private parking for up to five cars with additional space at the boatyard. The site also has an EV charging point. Please note that the boatyard is also home to other holiday accommodation with just 3 pitches and two houseboats.

A great accommodation in a lovely location. Very well appointed with everything thought of. The separate shower rooms and toilets was a great bonus for a large group. Cottage was lovely and warm and cosy. Great location for star gazing and a short walk to the estuary for some fantastic sunsets. We will be back.

Amazing property and location. We had a multi generational holiday and everyone had a wonderful stay from my youngest granddaughter ( 5 months ) to my 95 year old Mum. The property is very spacious and the private beach was incredible.

Perfect for our crowd. Glad we took a kayak and paddleboard and the easy access to a private and safe area at low tide meant all the kids could have a go. Also glad we're booked again for next year. We loved the secret tunnel access to our private space. Plenty of room inside and out.
