This modern property is located just one mile from the attractive fishing village of Appledore, which is famed for its shipbuilding heritage. In summer, it is possible to take the ferry across the estuary to the village of Instow, with its sandy beach and yacht club. Beach lovers will enjoy a visit to Westward Ho! with its two-mile stretch of golden sands, perfect for swimming, surfing, or just relaxing and building sandcastles. To one end of the beach, there is access to Northam Burrows Country Park, a mix of saltmarsh, sand dunes, and grassland, which is home to horses and sheep and makes a wonderful place for enjoying quiet walks.

Guests enter the property via intermittent steps, which lead to the accommodation. The property is an elevated bungalow, so all of the rooms are conveniently on one level. The lounge is a light-filled space, thanks to the doors which open out onto the property’s well-sized patioed veranda. From the front of the property, there are views of the sea, while the rear overlooks unspoilt countryside, offering a sense of space, privacy, and connection with the natural surroundings. The lounge provides comfortable seating, as well as a TV and DVD.

The property’s kitchen is equally spacious, has a contemporary feel, and is well-equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, as well as a good-sized dining table. The king-size master bedroom has views out across the neighbouring fields, while the second bedroom is a comfortable twin room. The bathroom has a WC and benefits from both a bath and separate shower cubicle.

Outside the property, there is a good-sized enclosed patio, which is accessed via the lounge and enjoys uninterrupted views of the countryside to the rear and the sea to the front. It is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or watch the sun set, making the most of the property’s exceptional setting.

We spent a week at Pilots View - it is a lovely, comfortable, well equipped and spacious bungalow. The patio is a great place to relax, with views across to the estuary. Appledore is within walking distance, which has friendly restaurants, pubs and cafes. The owners Alan and Gwen were very friendly and helpful, and gave us good advice on the local Read morearea. Its a really good base to explore North Devon and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend this special holiday home - we look forward to returning ourselves! Hide

Lovely bungalow with great views over Northam burrows. Very comfortable and well equipped. Owners were very helpful. We hope to return next year.

Excellent holiday Cottage with great views very clean and spacious great location thoroughly recommended. The owners are very helpful and we were made to feel very welcome possibly the best Cottage that we have ever stayed in and Hopefully we will be back next year. Highly recommendable.

Excellent accommodation with fab views of the beach and burrows. Quiet location with parking just minutes from Appledore. Lovely hosts who can give you history of the area.
