Crich is a pretty Derbyshire village on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales. It is the home of the Crich Tramway Village and Crich Stand - the memorial to the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment. Crich was also the setting for the fictional village of Cardale which featured in the popular TV series 'Peak Practice'. Many attractions are within easy reach and there are many glorious walks right from the doorstep. There is something for all ages and areas of interest nearby, including Matlock and Matlock Bath, Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham for the more adventurous. For a more relaxing time, just a little further away is the lovely town of Bakewell and the stunning Chatsworth House.

The cottage is approached via a few steps via the garden. Stepping inside this traditional country cottage featuring neutral colour palette and wooden beams overhead, take your coat and boots off and leave them in the handy cloakroom. Your kitchen is on the left; it's a generous size to prepare a home-cooked meal and dine at the kitchen table. The kitchen comes complete with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and slimline dishwasher. Head through to the lounge with an original multi-fuel stove at its heart, curl up on the sofa to watch a movie on the Smart TV or just have a good old catch up by the fire. A selection of games and books offers traditional entertainment. When it's time to retire, take yourself upstairs to one of the two bedrooms: a double and a bunk bedroom. The bathroom has a shower over bath and WC so it's perfect if you need to immerse yourself in a hot bath after a long walk or wake yourself up with an energising shower.

Outside is an enclosed garden to the side of the property, ideal for children and your four-legged friend. Light up the charcoal BBQ on a summer's afternoon and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the countryside.

This is a lovely cottage, albeit on quite a loud road with fairly fast moving traffic. The garden suffers a little from the noise as a result, however over the weekend was a little quieter. The sofas and beds are comfy, the heating system is efficient, and the kitchen facilities are good. Loved the old school CD player and CD collection! UnfortunatRead moreely the shower stopped working for us on day 2, and despite a visit from the owner to fix it the shower remained ice cold for the rest of our stay. Cleanliness could have been better, with plates and cutlery needing washing up before use, and there were no dishwasher tablets provided, however we picked some up in the local shop easily enough. Some nice walks nearby and the pub and bakery down the road are both great. Bring your own salt. Hide

Cottage was a good location for exploring the area. Kitchen was well equipped. Local pub (The Black Swan) was friendly, and good value, nice pizza! Though people with mobility issues may struggle due to the steep slope down to the heart of the village.

Lovely homely cottage in a great location for the village of Crich and exploring the National Park. Small enclosed garden ideal for our little dog. All that you need is in the village - local shop for essentials, pub, bakers and butcher. Indian restaurant and fish and chip shop. (Fish and chips was terrible - maybe we were just unlucky!)
