This beautiful, terraced cottage in the picturesque village of Bishopstone is centrally located, with easy pedestrian access to village amenities as well as good access to main routes and attractions in the area. If you enjoy peaceful walks, cycling, or simply taking in the natural beauty, you will find plenty of opportunities in and around the area. Walking trails from the village will take you on to the Ridgeway, a national trail that takes in stunning scenery and views. Visit one of the best-known prehistoric sites in Britain at nearby Avebury (17 miles), a Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles. The cottage is also a fantastic base for exploring the Cotswolds with Cirencester, ‘The Capital of the Cotswolds’, based 21 miles away. Explore the charming shops and pubs or one of the museums that will give you an insight into the history of the area.
As you enter this welcoming property, kick off your shoes and coats in the entrance hall/utility room (home to a washing machine and tumble dryer), and head into the bright and spacious kitchen/diner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for a self-catered break, and there is a dining table that will comfortably seat four people. The inviting lounge has a stunning south-facing bay window. Relax on the large three-seater sofa (recently replaced, photos to be updated shortly) in front of the lovely wood burner and pop a movie on the Smart TV. There is also a writing desk which is handy for anyone needing to catch up on work while here, utilising the super-fast Wi-Fi offered. Moving upstairs, you will find two large bedrooms with south-facing windows and views. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and the second has a single. Completing the layout is the family bathroom.
Patio doors from the kitchen lead you out to the enclosed garden area. The south-facing patio has a bistro table and chairs where you can dine alfresco with stunning views across the Ridgeway. The steps from the patio lead down to the lower garden where you will find a decked area with seating, providing a lovely little suntrap to enjoy. Across the lawn, you will find a gate with steps down to the village footpath, known as ‘The City’. From here, you can enjoy walks around the village and out into the surrounding countryside.
