Situated in the heart of Newland, a picturesque village that is steeped in history, this traditional stone cottage with many original features, is perfect for couples wanting to unwind and escape into the countryside. You will be well-served by foot with a traditional village pub situated across the road, offering a menu of local seasonal foods and Sunday roast. The village is renowned for its prominent landmark the ‘Cathedral of the Forest’. It’s great for walkers, surrounded by countryside with well-waymarked paths, with both the Offa’s Dyke footpath and Wye Valley Walk accessible from Redbrook (2 miles). The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley have many medieval and market towns to explore, such as Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth (all within 22 miles). For adventure outdoors, there is canoeing and rock climbing at Symonds Yat (8 miles), and mountain biking for all abilities throughout the Forest of Dean, to name but a few.

Whilst the retreat is situated within the grounds of the owner's home, guests will have access via the front which faces onto the village. The ground floor of the property is open plan and spacious, enjoying natural light from the oak-framed double doors that open onto the patio area. Guests can relax in the lounge area. Here, a generously sized corner sofa is perfect for catching up with friends, and a well-stocked bookcase and Smart TV are also available. For dining, a farmhouse table and chairs are perfect for guests. The kitchen is well-equipped, farmhouse-style with views onto the gardens offering everything you will need for preparing meals during your stay. The bathroom is situated on the ground floor, with a shower over the bath. Upstairs, guests have the choice of two bedrooms a super-king-size room and a double room, and a separate WC too.

The holiday let has a south-west facing patio area with bistro seating, a fire pit and portable charcoal BBQ on request. The patio has an open aspect onto the grounds along with stunning views across to the Cathedral of the Forest.

More than lived up to expectations, this a very comfortable and charming barn conversion in a lovely setting. A perfect base to explore the area, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful week over New Year its an absolutely beautiful place. The kitchen and rooms are well equipped, and everything works perfectly. Our host, Karen, was lovely: very friendly, very chatty, and full of great ideas. The forest around the property is incredible, with plenty to do if you have children and are happy to drive around a littRead morele. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer, so well definitely have to come back. Hide

Very comfortable cottage, it is very well equipped .Beautiful gardens and very helpful owner who gave us some beautiful apples from the garden. The carpentry through out the barn is exceptional. We hope to return soon.

We had a fantastic week at the barn it was extremely well furbished,clean and the location and surrounding garden was first class. Nice! This barn is well sited in Newland, very close to the pub and church, and a great location for exploring the Forest. The barn itself is spacious, light and warm with very comfy sofas and plenty of character.. There is ample hot water for showers or baths. We used the larger bedroom, which has a really nice firm bed tho you do have to be carefRead moreul walking around the bed because of low beams. The tv is small for the distance from the sofa. Lovely Barn in beautiful setting, being opposite a pub is handy, but unfortunately there is nothing else in the village apart from the beautiful church. The Barn is comfortable, but the stairs were a problem for me as I've not long had a knee replacement and the stair risers are very steep compared with normal staircases. Bed is very comfortable. Host is really friendly. You can have a nice movie night on the large couch + smart tv. Pub across the road is cozy and has a nice beer garden.

Lovely homely cottage, with an excellent outlook onto a large garden. The kitchen was well equipped with the bedrooms having comfortable beds. The location was excellent for local walks and as a base to explore the wider Wye Valley area. Would recommend, and would hope to return again.

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It is very comfortable and spacious. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on the terrace with a view of the church. Beautiful area and centrally located. We have made many walks in the region and visited lovely villages. Karen is very friendly, helpful and hospitable.

We had a lovely week in The Barn. It's in a beautiful location with an incredible garden perfect for our son to play in. Lots of local attractions are within a short driving distance. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. Karen is a very welcoming host and we couldn't fault the stay. Our son said he wanted to stay forever!

A delightful cottage in the midst of a lovely garden. A good location with access to intetesting historical sites and market towns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owner was on hand to provide advice about where to visit and was helpful in everyway. The local pub very close by is well worth a few visits!
