Matlock, an old spa town, is less than 2 miles away and Matlock Bath with its dramatic limestone cliffs is close by. Lovers' Walks, a short, flat path near the Derwent River can be enjoyed here or a cable car can be taken to the Heights of Abraham. Cromford, with its rich history and beautiful walks, including along the canal where Richard Arkwright had one of his revolutionary mills is 4 miles away. Carsington Water has a great water sports centre and is set less than 8 miles away. The grand Chatsworth House with its roaming deer is just over 11 miles away and Bakewell is a similar distance with its famous pudding.
