Situated in a perfect position to enjoy all the Peak District National Park has to offer. Spend your days exploring the picturesque villages and their traditional shops, cafes and pubs. For walkers, the nearby High Peak Trail provides an excellent starting point for a challenging hike through this spectacular part of the world. Carsington Water boasts a variety of scenic walks around the reservoir and beyond. Why not try a spot of kayaking, cycling, sailing or fishing. Matlock Bath has a huge selection of cafes and ice cream parlours, and is also the starting point for the cable car that takes you to the Heights of Abraham and many footpaths are accessible near to the cottage. Situated next to the owner’s home, yet privacy is assured, a warm welcome awaits.

Stepping into the cottage you are welcomed into the bright and airy lounge/diner with floor to ceiling windows that let the light flood in. The cottage character is enhanced with the exposed beams and impressive fireplace which houses a beautiful wood burner. Put your feet up on the comfy seating by the Smart TV after a day hiking the surrounding hills. The dining table is situated by the window with pretty garden views and hosts a great spot for lazy breakfasts. The kitchen offers all you need for a comfortable stay such as electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Completing the ground floor is a separate WC. Upstairs on the first floor the cottage offers two pleasant bedrooms, a double with complimenting pine furniture and a pretty twin bedroom decorated with calming neutral tones. Don’t forget your bubble bath as the bathrooms offers a shower over bath and WC.

Outside there is a large enclosed private garden, with wonderful views and and pretty borders, with a gravelled seating area to the front of the cottage which is ideally situated to take in the pretty surrounding countryside. There is off-road parking for two cars.

We really enjoyed our short stay at Croft Cottage. The cottage has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and has good facilities for cooking and relaxing. We came as 4 adults (2 couples) and found the cottage spacious with good parking. We loved our last-minute half-term stay at Croft Cottage. Despite the heavy rain, it was the perfect base for exploring by day and relaxing by the fire with games in the evening, a true home from home. Perfect modern cottage in excellent location. My wife, 8 year old and I were looking for short day time walks and cosy winter nights. We could not have chosen a better cottage. A short evening walk to Bonsall takes you to the nearest pub with great food, a longer day walk (with a child) gets you to Matlock and Matlock Bath. Absolutely perfect! Beautiful location with a spectacular view. Local pubs are quaint and a lovely walk from the accommodation. The hosts were great. They set up a Christmas Tree for us and left a hamper with proseccu, chocolates and shortcake biscuits! They even helped us start our car when we tried to leave but discovered we had a flat battery. Situated at the top of steep Black Tor Road, Croft Cottage has amazing views. Well maintained and spotless inside. Plenty of hot water, wood burner essential after a long wet walk in November. We have just returned from the most wonderful week at Croft Cottage. The cottage is gorgeous, really well equipped and was plenty big enough for us and our 2 teenage children. We loved walking locally straight from the cottage but also going further afield to cycle the Monsal Trail, climb Stanage Edge and visit Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth. Brilliant cottage. Very well equipped. Was welcomed with wine and cakes and the owner was really helpful all through the weekend, but wasn't intrusive in any way. Nothing I could really fault with the property at all. Great base for exploring round the Peaks and also good walks from the doorstep.

We had a wonderful stay at Croft Cottage. There is plenty to do around the area and it is rich in history. The cottage itself is so peaceful and has lovely views. This cottage was the perfect place for us to explore the peaks from. Cosy, clean and comfortable with lots of character not to mention peaceful! Lovely location with easy access to Matlock and walking distance to one of the best pubs weve visited in ages. Everything was perfect. The cottage was clean and cosy. We loved the view from the windows and garden - green fields, hills and sheep. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The bed and bedding were comfy. There were a Spanish tapas restaurant and fish and chips shop in Cromford that is only 5 mins drive. The Barley Mow pub was a must try.
