A spacious, ground-floor apartment, this bright Mortehoe bolthole makes a great base for families and couples. Sleeping four guests, it is just up the hill from Woolacombe (1.5 miles). Grunta Beach and Combesgate are around 0.5 miles away, before you reach Woolacombe beach itself, a 3-mile stretch of sand with Putsborough Beach at its far end. The beaches are part of the North Devon World Surfing Reserve. Mortehoe has two pubs, a farm store in season at North Morte Farm, post office, fine bistro restaurant, coffee shop, chip shop and takeaway. The South West Coast Path runs though the village. As you walk from Morte Point towards the lighthouse at Bull Point, look out for seals and take in the coastal heathland and maritime grasslands, which are great habitats for birds and other wildlife. and a colony of seals. Follow a circular walking route of just over 2 miles from Mortehoe to Morte Point.
