A lovely cottage in a perfect location. You are never too far from anywhere in the New Forest. The ponies were outside the cottage when we arrived and was so lovely to see. They often visited. We would stay here again!

We had a lovely stay in Bench Cottage, it is well equipped and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the garden outside space which was beautiful for an evening drink/meal. The location was fabulous with ponies coming up to the fence, but so handy for a short walk into Lyndhurst for restaurants and shops etc

House is quaint, was lovely and warm, comfortable and a great base for exploring the New Forest. The location is excellent - ponies grazing out front but just a few minutes walk into Lyndhurst town centre.

An ideal location for exploring the New Forest, and the Cottage was wellsuited to dealing with wet /muddy coats and boots , which was a big plus due to the amount of rainfall! There are a number of Pubs/Cafes within easy reach and we would recommend the Sir Walter Tyrell, just a short drive away, for their food and welcoming Staff.

A lovely old cottage in a good location on the edge of Lyndhurst with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Easy access for walking and cycling. We were very unlucky with the weather but enjoyed our short stay despite that.

Cottage in lovely location could be fantastic. Unfortunately it needs a lot of TLC. Very damp rain coming through the roof .

Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: The roof has since been replaced

Lovely quirky cottage suited in a perfect location for exploring different areas of the new forest by foot or by car. Lots of shops, restaurants, pubs within walking distance of the cottage. The cottage itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would definitely book this cottage again in the future.

Had a wonderful New Year at Bench cottage. Gorgeous place to stay and lots of places to eat within walking distance so didn't cook once. Very homely feel, felt at home and had a great time. The ponies came right up to the fence which the kids loved.

We had such a relaxing time. Beautiful location with ponies and cows right outside our front door. Beds were super comfy . Plenty of pillows and towels too. Also, we were interested in reading about the history of the cottage.
