This Grade II listed cottage is located in the traditional village of Worth Matravers, a quiet place with a duck pond, welcoming village pub, and tearoom. There are some wonderful coastal walks to be had in the area, and walking out to Winspit Cove from the property offers breath-taking views and swimming for strong swimmers only. Further around the coast, to the north-east, the seaside town of Swanage is more suited to families, offering a wide sandy beach, waterfront amusements, a pier, and a choice of places to eat. A little further north still, the National Trust owned coastline at Studland Bay has a quiet dune-backed beach from where it is possible to take the chain ferry across to Poole Harbour to the upmarket resort of Sandbanks.

With its whitewashed walls, wooden floorboards, and stone fireplaces, this property has a delightfully authentic cottage-feel to it and, makes a lovely place for a relaxing stay. The lounge is an attractive room which offers a wealth of period features alongside comfortable furnishings, an open fire, flagstone flooring, and a TV/DVD. Next to the lounge, the galley-style kitchen, though small is nonetheless well-equipped and offers an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, and washing machine. The first of the property’s three bedrooms can also be found on the ground floor, a pretty children’s room offering a single bed and a set of bunk beds. Two further bedrooms can be found on the first floor of the cottage, the first of which is a restful double room, whilst the other is a tranquil twin room. The bathroom, meanwhile, offers a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, there is a pleasant courtyard area with garden furniture which is for the sole use of guests staying at the cottage. In addition to this, guests have access to a lawned garden which is shared with the neighbouring cottage, which is furnished with garden furniture. This property has an excellent location and is good value for money for Worth Matravers. The property is in a historic row of old cottages and has lots of character, so if you are expecting an immaculate property with all mod cons this would not be for you. We all slept very well, and appreciated how quiet and dark it was. Lots of great walks direcRead moretly from the door, and always worth visiting The Square and Compass! Hide

We had a wonderful long weekend - quiet, relaxing stay - switched off from crazy, busy lives and tech. With wonderful coastal walks on the doorstep this cottage was perfect! Thank you! Note - not a place to stay if mobility is an issue as you cant park near house and stairs are steep.

This lovely cottage with a great rural atmosphere. There are countryside walks right from the doorstep and the pub and tea room in the village are very authentic and only a three-minute walk away. We enjoyed the fireplace, and the games and films provided, as it was rainy and windy during our stay. The beds are comfortable, but I'd recommend a new Read moresofa. The kitchen is small but convenient. Good location for exploring the Dorset coast. Hide

A lovely cottage and location with a nice garden and enough space. It is quirky and warm & comfortable but could do with a little TLC as slightly tired. The stairs are quite steep both to the upstairs & garden so if you are not very mobile you need to be careful. Kitchen is small but well equipped and living room a good size. Plenty of hot water. ARead more waste paper bin would be helpful in bedrooms as otherwise we only had the bathroom bin and the kitchen bin. It is very peaceful & near to fab pub! Hide

We thought the cottage was lovely, and loved Worth Matravers too. My only concern was we had someone with us who needed the car parked nearer.

Fantastic cottage in the most wonderful location. The views from the nearby Scott Arms are incredible and the food was good too. Short drive into Swanage. Corfe Castle is even closer. The cottage itself is beautiful and the garden was lovely. For a family of 4 with Primary School aged children, this property is ideal.
