With a wide range of interesting shops, quirky cafes, music, concerts, and family shows on at the Playhouse, plus inviting bars and restaurants within walking distance, you can leave the car behind and fully unwind. Explore nearby historic Tynemouth Castle and Priory (3 miles),  enjoy fabulous views from the pier, the weekend market, and more bars and restaurants. Cross the causeway to St. Mary’s Island (3 miles) for a tour of the lighthouse and look out for resting seals. North Shields’ famous fish market and restaurant area is a must for seafood via a wonderful walk from the Collingwood Monument, or you can spot dolphins at the mouth of the Tyne.

Step into this beautiful, modern seaside holiday home where the underfloor heating on the ground floor offers a warm and toasty welcome. There’s a captain’s swivel chair here as well so sit back and take in the views or perhaps use the binoculars to do a bit of bird watching, before re-joining the group to listen to some music or watch the Smart TV. There is one double bedroom on this floor with open hanging space and a chest of drawers for your clothing and the family bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. There are three more bedrooms on the second floor: one with a double bed, wardrobe, sea views and en-suite shower and WC; the other double bedroom has dual aspect windows offering amazing sea views and a chest of drawers, and the fourth bedroom overlooks the garden and has a double bed. This room also has plenty of storage, a Smart TV and a Nintendo Wii with games. Outside, head out through the French doors to the enclosed, patio garden and spend some time relaxing in the eight-seater hot tub. There is also a BBQ and garden furniture, just perfect for al fresco dining and drinks. Overall, a great stay - the location is fabulous and it is a lovely house. However, there were a few issues: only half a roll of toilet roll in the main bathroom and no spare, and barely any handwash in some of the bathrooms - these are things you expect to be provided; several taps are loose and need securing to the sinks; no place to hang the hanRead mored towel in the downstairs toilet. With a bit of attention these small niggles could be easily addressed and not distract from the overall enjoyment Hide

A really lovely house in a great location with views of the sea. Beds and sofas are comfortable and amenities are good. However, there were several maintenance problems which have been reported and we found there was an overall lack of attention to detail.

Could do with a deep clean. No t towels. No appliance instructions. Nothing telling us what bins the recycling went into. Or what day the bins go out - the black bin was full with previous residents rubbish. Tv remotes need batteries. Light bulbs blown in hall. Lovely location. Could be luxurious. Amazing views. Just felt like its not achieving itsRead more potential. Hide

There are currently building works going on directly outside the property and along the Promenade.....constant excessive noise and not conducive to a holiday break. I would agree with other reviews regarding issues that require addressing. I emailed the owner who did not respond.

Superb location, great views and close to various attractions e.g. beach, lighthouse etc. Town centre a few minutes walk, lots of bars and restaurants. The property was really comfortable and spacious even for 10 of us. We found one of the beds very hard but perhaps thats just personal taste. A welcome pack would have been nice. The two designated Read moreparking places were invaluable. We had 4 cars but still managed to park the other two on the road as no parking restrictions. Hide

Excellent location, very comfortable property. There are some items that need to be addressed which have been shared with the owner. I do need to point out that one of these is the recommendation to add bollards to the parking spaces as there was a car parked across both when we arrived. they did not leave for 4 days! this was not a huge issue in tRead morehe winter but i think this would be in the peak summer months. If this and other issues are addressed, i would return. Hide

Hot tub unusable for first 3 days, one of the main reasons we booked this is because of the hot tub. A lack of basic facilities ie oven glove, toilet rolls and some where to hang towels in bathrooms. The view is amazing but owner doesnt read reviews as has not acted on anty of them
