Nestling in the picturesque village of Old Scriven, which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book and has a long history associated with the linen industry, this charming holiday cottage is ideally situated close to Knaresborough, with the delightful spa town of Harrogate, home to the beautiful Valley Gardens and Yorkshire Showground, only a short drive away. Among the many local attractions you can enjoy are Knaresborough Castle, the Waterside, Mother Shiptons Cave and Ripley Castle. You can explore the Nidd Gorge, the Nidderdale Greenway, Almscliffe Crag or the famous Brimham Rocks. You will also have easy access to the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, the cathedral city of Ripon and the vibrant city of York.

This lovely detached accommodation is a former stables situated in the grounds of Spinney Croft. On entering this lovely and welcoming ground-floor single-level studio cottage you will find yourself in the inviting and spacious open-plan lounge/diner/bedroom. With comfy seating, TV, DVD and CD, the lounge is an ideal space to relax in at the end of a fantastic day exploring this beautiful area. You will also find a charming dining area, and theres also a 4ft 6inch double bed. A good selection of books, games and DVDs is also provided. Heading over to the concealed kitchen you will find it equipped with everything you may need including an electric oven, grill, hob, combi microwave oven, fridge and freezer. There is also a shower room complete with a shower and WC.

Stepping outside, you can relax and unwind in the charming and furnished patio garden, which is ideal for enjoying lazy summer evenings. Parking is available outside for two cars.

John & Helen are friendly & helpful hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. The Stables is compact, but is in a perfect location for a couple wanting to explore North Yorkshire. The hosts provide everything you need in a pretty former stable block behind their even prettier house...lovely views round every corner. We had a lovely stay at spinney croft. The barn was perfect for two people, nice and warm with a comfortable bed. Ideal base for a trip to north Yorkshire. The cake left for us was very welcoming!

This was the perfect accommodation for us. Not only that, but it was geographically suited for all days out, and having a public transport link to the railway meant that we were not slaves to our car!

We had a really comfortable stay in this lovely little cottage. Felt right at home. Peaceful and quiet and very well laid out with a pretty garden view.

Great place,had everything you needed, good location and peaceful. The hosts were really helpful and friendly, I only dealt with John he was lovely and gave us extras which was very kind of him. We met Lottie the lovely dog, so sweet. Thank you.

The Stables at Spinney Croft is just perfect. Set in the owners' beautiful grounds, in lovely little village, I couldn't have asked for more. As a lone female traveller, I felt completely safe and relaxed, and the owners are lovely. I can highly recommend it, and would definitely stay there again. Thank you X

The Stables are a little gem. Comfortable and well equipped and located in a lovely setting. Excellent communication by hosts and a warm welcome on arrival with a lovely touch of a cake awaiting us. An easy walk into Knaresborough for trains to Harrogate and York. All in all a very pleasant few days staying at The Stables.

We really enjoyed our week stay here. Set in the owners garden in a nice, quiet location about 20 mins walk into town. The stables was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The owners were super friendly and helpful. It was lovely to sit on the patio with a morning cuppa in the sunshine. Quiet location 20 mins walk into town. Less to the station where you can get trains to York and Harrogate. Knaresborough has a lot to offer and a great place to stay. The stables is compact with everything you need. It was clean and the owner was friendly and helpful. Located in the garden of the house with your own patio area. Excellent accommodation for couple visiting Yorkshire, easy commuting distance to all main attractions. Selection of restaurants in surrounding area did not disappoint. The Stables wanted for nothing and the hosts are on site if required.

Lovely little cottage with everything you could need for a few days away. John & Helen were very friendly. Knaresborough is a very pretty place to visit and we loved a lazy morning on the river. Great location, so close to some gorgeous villages and dales.
