One of two adjoining cottages, this accommodation offers a peaceful location to relax and unwind. Located on a bridleway there is no passing traffic, only wild rabbits, red squirrels and woodpeckers as frequent garden visitors. The adjoining cottage is used only as an occasional retreat by the cottage owner. Beautiful walks can be enjoyed from the front door, through woodland, to the villages of Alverstone and Newchurch, or towards the coast at Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor. Cyclists can join the nearby Alverstone cycle path which links with Sandown, Newport and Cowes. The Isle of Wight is best known for its sandy beaches and traditional seaside holiday resorts offering plenty of swimming, paddling and beachside relaxation. Further inland sits Borthwood Copse, renowned for its ancient oaks and sweet chestnuts. Enjoy the short woodland walk whilst spotting red squirrels, and at certain times of year, a gorgeous carpet of bluebells.

On entering the cottage you’ll find the kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and a dining table for relaxed meals. A freezer and washing machine are also provided. There is an attractive and comfortable lounge area with Smart TV and DVD player and a bathroom with hand held shower over the bath and a WC. At each end of the cottage there is a sunny conservatory for relaxing and taking in the views. There are three pretty bedrooms up the cottage style stairs  - one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one single bedroom - the latter is reached by passing through the twin bedroom and down a couple of steps.

Outside the cottage is an abundance of land. Set in over three acres of garden and woodland, there’s really no reason to leave, particularly with outdoor furniture available for delightful al fresco dining. Off-road parking for two cars is available close to the cottage. Access to the cottage is along a single track lane which leads to the bridleway and so is not suitable for low slung vehicles.

We enjoyed Beaulieu Cottage - especially the view from the house and the walks right on the doorstep.

If you are very elderly the stairs could be a bit steep to get up and with the bathroom downstairs that again meant a tricky negotiation if you needed to get up for the toilet at night However, overall a lovely quiet cottage ideal for a relaxing holiday and only 2 miles from Shanklin, our favourite place on the island.

Great comfortable cottage. We had a dog and crawling baby- didn't feel on edge - its lived in and suitable for a proper family holiday . Fabulous big garden. Amazing walks through Borthwood Copse on the doorstep. We briefly met the owners who occasionally stay next door. They were lovely .

A lovely cottage in a perfect location and it was spotlessly clean. We used the location for a short cycling break and found the location perfect. Tucked away and very private, we were not looked over. We saw Red Squirrels for the first time on the isle of wight even though we visit often. One of them seems very interested in the garden bird feederRead more. The rear porch is ideal for storing clean bikes. Hide
