Property code: OC-91606

This charming cottage in Freshwater village, with shops, restaurants, tearooms, and pubs, is a real gem. From here, you can easily access Tennyson Down: head across to The Needles and Headon Warren while admiring the island's stunning coastline along the way (2.5 miles). For a day at the seaside, Totland and Colwell have sandy bays within 1.5 miles, or you can take a short drive across the island to the more traditional seaside resorts of Shanklin, Ventnor, or Sandown (all within 21 miles). Compton Bay, with its dinosaur footprints and fossils, is nearby and a must for history lovers as well as those who like to be in the water (4 miles). Nature lovers will also enjoy the variety of plants and animals at Afton Marsh, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (1.5 miles).

Enter through the front gate and proceed down the pretty garden path to the front door. Upon entering, you'll find yourself in the dining room of this beautiful cottage. Make your way through to the comfortable lounge, which is ideal for snuggling up in front of the Smart TV on one of the comfortable sofas. Return to the open-plan kitchen/diner, and you'll discover a well-equipped space with everything you could possibly need to prepare some delicious meals for your stay, as well as a dining table with seating for four where you can sit and enjoy your meals together. Completing this floor is the bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Climb the stairs after a long day of exploring to find two comfortable bedrooms, one of which is a double room with plenty of storage, and the other with bunk beds. There is a convenient upstairs WC with hand basin that is accessible from both bedrooms.

Stepping outside, you'll discover an enclosed rear garden with a grassed area, and a patio with outdoor furniture where you can unwind and relax in the sun. This property is a must for avid birdwatchers, as the owner has crafted bird boxes and renovated the exterior eaves of the house to encourage birds to nest, which has proved especially popular with swifts. Those guests staying in June - July may be in for a real treat, as they will get the chance to see and hear the swifts depart the UK for warmer climates from the garden of this great property.

We were delighted with everything about the cottage. It is well equipped and homely. We would definitely like to stay there again sometime. Parking was not easy but we always found somewhere nearby to leave the car.

A very well equipped cottage. Very comfortable and clean. The garden was secure for our dog. Right in Freshwater village. Plenty of shops and a good pub serving great food. It felt very home from home. Lovely bathroom too and an upstairs toilet. Spacious bedrooms and comfortable bed. Stairs steep so may not be for someone with mobility issues.

We have had an amazing holidays. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable. The bathroom is specious and having Jack and Jill toilet upstairs is a splendid idea. The bedrooms are spacious, hanging and storage space is plentiful. Garden is secure, lovely and sunny. Being a dog friendly cottage we could really not ask for anymore. The only isRead moresue we have experienced not fault of the cottage was the parking. I have sadly twisted my ankle, so no allocated parking was an issue to me. Hide

Very cosy comfortable cottage. Easy access to local beeches, amenities and travelling the island. Fully enclosed safe garden for our dog. Although restricted parking, we didnt find this a problem with available parking spaces in adjacent roads. Would definitely stay again.

This cottage is placed on a very busy road. Constant traffic and little parking for more than 30 mins. Shops are convenient but this means cars are outside until 10 pm.
