We loved our stay in Doves Retreat. A really cosy and comfortable cottage in a quiet village and a great location for exploring Hexham, Corbridge , Hadriens Wall and wider area. Very well equipped and comfortable sofas and beds. Lovely, helpful owners on hand to help with recommendations etc. Hoping to return in the future.

Problem with cleaning, still there at 16.20 when we arrived. Later we had to ask for the surfaces to be cleaned again, thick dust still. Hardly any bedroom storage and none at all for the twin beds on the mezzanine. Only fit for two to stay. Parking, you have to reverse in the gate past a car on the left then a tree and another car on the right, noRead moret easy at all. No door on the shower cubicle, so water on floor when using the loo after a shower. Still waiting for company to answer my complaint. Hide

its better for parents or grandparents with children rather than 2 single people. Plenty of books and games for rainy days. The parking is difficult. I kept the shutters on the downstairs bathroom and bedroom closed the whole time as I felt I could be visible by people from the green and the garden.

Lovely cottage clean and comfortable. The owners were very kind and helpful. They had left biscuits and they also left freshly baked scones one day after we had been out for the day. Such a shame the weather was not so kind. But very enjoyable.

The owners are wonderful and enormously welcoming. The village is great and the local pub is worth a visit Thursday to Saturday inclusive. In my view the accommodation would work for two adults or two adults with two young children. The kitchen is well equipped and the living area very pleasant.
