Polo Cottage is a great place to stay if you are looking for a central base from which to discover the many delights of Somerset and the surrounding towns, beaches and points of interest. The space is very comfortable and you are provided with everything you could possibly need aside from food and drink. West Camel itself is a friendly, communityRead more-driven village that welcomes everyone, and especially dog-owners. There are ample trails to walk and the essentials can be reached within walking distance. With a car you have the luxury of choosing between all the main supermarkets (if needed), as well as exploring artisan shops, independent traders, and familiar street brands that you might enjoy within any reputable department store, and you will never go short of options when looking to dine out or enjoy a pub lunch. We really enjoyed our stay at Polo Cottage and Sarah was a terrific host with the most adorable three spaniels. Hide

We absolutely loved our stay in Polo Cottage which had everything we needed, and more. It was almost a shame the weather wasn't bad so we could stay in and make more use of the extensive ' library ' and games.

Lovely cottage located in a friendly village, near to the A303. This meant it was easy to access the surrounding area. It is well equipped and well cared for. It only took a day or two to become used to its upside down arrangement. The bathroom and kitchen are particularly good. Sarah, the host, was friendly and very helpful. We loved the cottage, ideal for the dogs. Comfortable and warm. Very quiet ,even though been near the A303. Centrally located to visit National Trust properties, of which we saw 3 ,and visited Wells, and Glastonbury.

We had such a lovely week at Polo cottage. Sarah, the owner, was so welcoming and would go out of her way to be of help. The village is small with a pub and a bakery nearby. Although it is gorgeous with very friendly residents, a car is a must to get out and about for shopping/restaurants etc. The cottage is super dog-friendly, with garden space, oRead moreutside space with shower and a covered area where boots, paws etc could be dealt with in comfort. We walked from the door to West Camel. Fab stay! Hide

Polo Cottage is probably the best dog-friendly cottage we have ever stayed at. Reasonably priced and in a wonderful location, our stay was amazing. So peaceful, and our dogs really enjoyed the morning sun-trap front garden (think breakfast al fresco - weather permitting!) If you have especially agile or determined dogs, they may be able to clear thRead moree wall (about 4 feet), and the wi-fi and phone signal can be a little bit sketchy, but this is a rural location and we managed fine. Overall? Perfect! Hide
