Property code: OC-DC132

This delightful cottage is located on a tranquil no-through lane in the quaint village of Osmington. Ideally situated for access to the plethora of coastal walks available along Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, it is also conveniently located to visit the famous White Horse on the South Dorset Downs. The White Horse is a hill figure cut into limestone and is said to have been created in 1808 in honour of King George III.

The cottage is entered from the rear garden through a porch into a hall with ample space for coats and boots so that you don’t have to travel through the house with muddy boots after a country walk. There is a wonderful beamed double aspect kitchen/dining room with a beautiful handcrafted kitchen and traditional oak worktops. All modern conveniences can be found in the kitchen along with some period features including an original bread oven and inglenook, which houses the family dining table. The sitting room has yet more period features with exposed stone walls and oak floors. The log burner provides a cosy feel and you can imagine curling up on the comfortable sofa with a good book in the cooler evenings. French doors to the garden allow a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior. There is a bathroom located downstairs for convenience, and this is accessed down three steps from the hall. On the first floor of the property there are three beamed bedrooms with views over the garden to the wooded hillside beyond. There are 2 king sized rooms with en suites, one of which also has a single bed and a twin room with exposed stone walls and feature fireplace.

This property has a level rear garden mainly laid to lawn, and surrounding flower beds extending the feel of the countryside into the garden. It is a great place for sitting out reading a book, catching some rays or simply enjoying nature at its best. The terrace outside the French windows is ideal for sunny breakfasts and evening barbecues.

This is a lovely property in a quiet road. Walk a few hundred yards and you can be in fields with footpaths to Sutton Poyntz. Only a mile or so across field to sea. Very private garden for relaxation. Would happily return.

Very charming cottage and so comfortable. It is located in a lovely peaceful area and it's delightful to relax in the beautiful garden - or play garden games! The owner is local and always on hand if you need anything. We've been coming to Rosedale Cottage for a number of years now - we enjoy it so much. Would definitely recommend.

It was a lovely place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there. I would think that larger numbers staying there might have a problem with the kitchen if doing self-catering, tho we managed quite well.
