One of Dorset’s best-known landmarks; Corfe Castle is set high on the hillside overlooking this picturesque village. Owned by the National Trust, you can explore the ruins and take in the wonderful views from the top. There are plenty of local amenities to choose from within these historic surrounds and fabulous walks to be had, which wind through rolling countryside. Ideally placed for touring, head south to the traditional seaside town of Swanage, where you can indulge in some fresh seafood or relax on the sandy beach. Travelling back inland will bring you to a choice of popular attractions, including Monkey World and the Tank Museum, which are ideal for a fun filled day out.

The semi-detached cottage is approached via driveway from the residential no through road where it is situated. A step leads to an entrance hall, which is the ideal place to leave muddy boots. Once inside, to the left is an inviting lounge with open fire and TV. Just next door is a comfortable dining room, the ruins of Corfe Castle can be seen across the countryside from both rooms. Set to the back of the property is kitchen with a Range style oven and gas hob, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a handy separate WC here and next door is a useful utility space with washing machine, tumble dryer and American style fridge/freezer. Heading back into the lounge to the front hallway you will find the staircase rising to the first floor. Immediately ahead of you is a separate WC, with the bathroom next door, with a shower over bath. Completing the property are the three bedrooms, one cosy twin and two doubles.

A door from the kitchen leads into the rear garden of the property. A patio area sits directly behind the cottage, with steps leading up to a second area with garden furniture ideal for dining outdoors. Head across the lawn to the rear gate, which brings you onto the footpath leading directly to Corfe Common. There is off-road parking for two cars to the front of the property.

This cottage is in a perfect location within walking distance of the delightful village, local store and lovely pubs. Being able to access the common from the back garden is fantastic when you have dogs and the safety gate between the kitchen and lounge was a brilliant addition. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The cottage is in an ideal location. It is comfortable and well equipped with pots, pans etc. Kate was very responsive and when the dishwasher broke it was replaced the very next day, which we were very impressed with. We have booked again for next year, which says it all! Thank you Kate

This was our 4th stay at this cottage. If you want a comfortable, well-equipped, quiet cottage in a fabulous location it's hard to beat. A stunning view of the castle, literally just a few steps away from Corfe Heath, and about 10 mins drive to the coast it's a great compromise between being close to everything yet away from the crowds.

Great cottage in a lovely location with walks onto the moorland almost straight out of the back gate. Owner very receptive to requests -when we realised that there were no medium sized logs to get the log fire going after lighting the kindling, she provided us with a bag the next day.
