This was a perfect stop for us with small children, handy to Alnwick and many beaches we didnt spend long at the property, but the small confined garden with a childrens slide and childrens games in the property were greatly appreciated.

We had a lovely stay. Good location and the cottage is really comfortable. A few repairs are needed though - downstairs loo and washing machine in particular.

This is a great base for a Northumberland holiday. The cottage is really good for a family, without being luxurious. The weather was cold but the house was cosy with the log burner and good central heating. The location is good but there are not really good walks there, so we were in and out of the car quite a bit, but we expected that. Though the property could do with some updates & renovation, the area is lovely with some local walks from the door. Please note bottled water is required for all drinking water

Very slippy wooden floor. My wife and I both slipped over. Many problems with doors. You need to be super strong to open and close front door. We had no warning the tap water was from spring, hence bottle water was needed. Induction hob would be too confusing for most people.

This cottage provides a good, unpretentious base for anyone travelling to the area with dogs and/ or children. It is located some distance from Embleton and any beaches, so a car is essential. However, there is a good, secure garden, and the pleasant Rocking Horse Cafe is only a short walk away. The owners were helpful when a query was raised aboutRead more additional parking. Great location and walks from the door a real bonus. Bed was so comfortable with luxury bedding. Downstairs furniture also very comfortable. Once hedge cut in back garden the view was amazing, beautiful views across open countryside can be seen from upstairs. Had everything you needed to make meals. So peaceful, had a wonderful stay.

On arrival, disappointed to find that the cottage hadn't had a proper clean. The cottage really needs some TLC but perhaps this will happen once the building works are finished. Location is good and The Rocking Horse cafe is just along the road, great food and dog friendly. Low Newton beach lovely for walking the dogs in the evening.
