We found the accommodation to be clean & well presented. A lot of thoughtful little things were done which we appreciated. However, what spoilt the week completely for us was the sofa seating; it was extremely uncomfortable. Very hard and lumpy. NB: There is no second TV in the mezzanine as stated in the details, and no explanation from the owners. We left early. Hide

We had a wonderful week at Barn End. A lovely welcoming tray and everything carefully thought through. Beautiful garden, good accommodation and superb setting. Really can't fault anything. We always opted to park our car on the top village green as the stroll back was so pretty and the views fantastic. Very near Reeth one way and a good pub (Punch Read moreBowl) the other. We have been self-catering for decades and Barn End rates among the best. Very helpful hosts. Hide

For the price paid this cottage is good value for the location. Well situated for walks from the door and within a short drive. In May, parking directly outside the cottage in the village square was possible on 2/14. Cottage is a barn conversion and so planning restriction will have been applicable. Some rooms a little dark but very comfortable and well furnished property in beautiful area. Would stay again.
