Snape is a peaceful village tucked in the North Yorkshire countryside just 3 miles from the market town of Bedale. The village offers a pub, and a local shop and is home to a Grade I-listed 15th-century castle which was once the home of Henry VIII's sixth wife. Bedale is a bustling town, housing a range of amenities to make the most of. From here you can also visit other attractive spots such as Thirsk (14 miles) and Richmond (16 miles). Countryside lovers are spoilt with the choice of two National Parks; the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors, both within 20 miles, where you can enjoy a plethora of walking and cycling opportunities, as well as some quaint little villages.

Park your car on the gravel driveway and enter this characterful renovated barn conversion. The entrance hall will lead you towards a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge is a fabulous place to relax and unwind with your family and friends together. The kitchen houses integral appliances including a Range-style electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave along with a washing machine and tumble dryer for those holiday practicalities. Rustle up a feast and dine together at the dining table, comfortably seating everyone. After dinner, relax on one of the sofas and pick a film to watch on the Smart TV or simply gather around to plan your next adventure. When sleep calls, there are three well-appointed bedrooms, a ground floor bedroom with a double bed, opposite this room is the shower room with WC. Venture upstairs to the remaining two bedrooms; another double and a twin room. There is also a separate WC on this floor.

Outside, is a wonderful quiet patio accessed from the lounge doors which you can open to extend your space. Enjoy dining alfresco on the patio furniture in the warm balmy evenings. There is off-road parking for two cars.

This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in across the UK. The welcome basket was chock full of goodies. Cleanliness was good and as we stayed 2 weeks, the owner kindly had our bedding changed mid-stay upon request. The village is nice, though the shop is only open Tuesday thru Saturday and is very expensive. The pub seemed welcoming and waRead mores very close, though we only had a drink there, so we cant comment about the quality of the food nor opening times and days. The parking area/yard is spacious and great for dogs. Great location between The Dales and Nidderdale. Highly recommend! Hide

We knew what to expect, as we had stayed at the cottage this March. Nothing disappointed, location ideal for our purpose. Even the weather stayed largely dry. Good cottage.
