Stay at this beautiful wooden glamping lodge, set in idyllic countryside in Glengap, ideal for couples and solo travellers seeking a restful haven from which to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The property is set in Glengap, a farming area just outside the village of Twynholm, close to local attractions with beautiful beaches within 7 miles, ideal for wild swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding. Within 5 miles, discover Kirkcudbright, known as ’the artists’ town’, which boasts a harbour, a historic high street and a diverse range of annual events. Gatehouse of Fleet, 6 miles away, is home to the Mill on the Fleet Visitor Centre and from the town centre, you can enjoy a circular 3-mile walk through the Cally Woods or numerous cycling routes. Walkers are spoilt for choice, with scenic coastal walks at Rockcliffe and Balcary Bay within 20 miles and forest trails in the Galloway Forest Park, 10.5 miles away. Alternatively, stroll through the beautiful Threave Gardens, less than 10 miles away.

Step into this welcoming lodge, full of comfort and rustic charm. The ground-level lodge is a wonderfully spacious studio with a bright, open-plan layout featuring living, dining, kitchen, and bedroom areas that flow effortlessly together. The interior is thoughtfully designed to maximise space and create an attractive, homely feel. You are surrounded by windows that flood the space with natural light and afford far-reaching countryside views. The carefully chosen, playful decor, including plenty of wood, makes for a unique and inviting feel. The seating area has a comfortable sofa and an easy chair, so you can sit back and relax with an afternoon tea after a day of exploring or bring a warm drink in the evening, light the wood burner and watch a movie together on the Smart TV. The kitchen has all the appliances necessary to rustle up some tasty treats during your stay. To the right, past the kitchen area, are patio doors leading to the covered veranda. To the left as you enter past the kitchen area, there is a separate contemporary shower room. When it is time to rest, sleep soundly in a double bed. A separate daybed completes the interior of this delightful property.


Wander outside to the covered wooden veranda with outdoor seating, an ideal spot for a morning coffee to enjoy the gorgeous rural views or to sit and stargaze. Private parking is available for one car.

Cottage was excellent unfortunately we had to leave after 1 day due to a medical emergency. The owner was extremely helpful and we would certainly recommend it to anyone who wishes a quiet restful holiday.
