The property is located in the hamlet of Venterdon adjoining Stoke Climsland, where there is a post office and well-stocked shop. The immediate area is a haven for wildlife, and picturesque countryside walks can be enjoyed direct from the property. The south and north Cornish coasts and beaches are within easy reach, including many scenic coves and picturesque fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Looe and Polperro along with the rugged coastlines of Bude, Boscastle and Tintagel. Just a short drive away is the wooded Tamar Valley AONB, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor National Park waiting to be explored. Local National Trust properties include Cotehele, Lanhydrock, Saltram and Anthony House. The ancient stannary town of Tavistock and the bustling market town of Launceston, with its original Norman castle, are close by. Family attractions include Morwelham Quay, Tamar Trails Centre, Adrenaline Quarry, the Monkey Sanctuary, Hidden Valley Discovery Park, St Mellion Golf Course & Spa and the Dartmoor Mystery Treasure Trail. Trains run nearby from Gunnislake to Plymouth on the scene Tamar Valley Line. Right on the Bude to Plymouth bus route, explore the North Cornish Coast, historic Launceston, Saltash and Plymouth without the need to drive. The local pub is just over a mile away and there is an abundance of good pubs, restaurants and farm shops in the area.

Beautiful cottage, found is was so cosy, it was really clean and even had a few little treats left for us. The fire was a bonus because the start of our stay winter returned, but summer came back thankfully. We are a family of 5 and a fantastic week away staying in Venterdon Barn! The barn was well equipped with everything we needed and more! There was a welcome card and some delicious Cornish biscuits when we arrived. We would very highly recommend Venterdon Barn and would love to stay here again!

A return visit to a lovely holiday home. The Barn is very well equipped and has a lovely cosy feel. A welcome pack was a extra nice touch. The Barn is very well placed for enjoying both the North and South Coast of Cornwall. We had great trips out to Bude and Looe and as well as completing a circular bus tour of Plymouth. We really enjoyed our stay at the barn. It had everything we needed and was a cosy home away from home. The owners went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome. It was a great place to explore Devon and Cornwall as a family.

Our week at The Barn was very comfortable and we were made to feel most welcome. Our party of 4 adults and two young boys were well catered for, with good quality furnishings and pretty much everything we needed. It was a lovely base to explore the area, and to enjoy cosy evenings with the family.
