Perfectly placed near to the Cornwall border with Devon, this is a great location from which to explore both counties. Head towards the coast and just a mile away a popular tea room and village pub can be enjoyed, and from here a short stroll takes you to the South West Coastal Path, providing access to the unique cliff top ‘Hawker's Hut’, and leading to the ever popular seaside town of Bude. Beach lovers will also be spoilt for choice with an array of golden sandy beaches and unspoilt coves in the area. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include Clovelly, Hartland, Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, and numerous National Trust properties.

Stepping in to the property the first room is a lovely romantic studio style bedroom/lounge with double bed, vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, TV, DVD and a cosy wood burner. A step down then takes you into a characterful hallway with original stone floor, and accessed via this there is a lovely contemporary country style bathroom with hand-held shower over roll-top bath, separate shower and WC. Towards the rear of the property, there is a beautifully light and airy kitchen/diner and this is well-equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine.

Heading outside there is a delightful enclosed gravelled patio with seating to the front, and an enclosed gravelled patio with garden furniture, charcoal BBQ and unfenced pond to the rear. Further to this there is access to a large shared garden with an unfenced pond and a two acre field, perfect for exercising four legged friends.

A beautiful cottage with stunning gardens, a lovely retreat in the countryside whilst also having the beaches and seaside towns nearby. Lovely cottage and nice and peaceful only negative was the track leading to cottage only 4x4 suitable.but only my opinion very clean and well equipped would recommend.

The cottage was amazing and we absolutely loved it. The log fire provided warmth and gave off that cosy cottage feel. It had everything that you would need and was situated in a truly magical spot for a short break or longer holiday. Beautiful cottage and gardens. Lovely welcome. Milk, coffee and cornish shortbread waiting for us. Ideal enclosed garden areas for our little dogs with bowl, doggy treats and a towel. Lovely touches.

The accommodation & location were absolutely perfect. Hosts were friendly, warm, welcoming & accommodating. Peaceful, remote & not far from busier Bude, short drive through Kilkhampton, where you can find a well stocked co-op or Morrisons in Bude. Local pub & tea rooms excellent value, service excellent! Beautiful and peaceful, internet reception not great but that didnt bother us as we wanted a getaway holiday. Easy to access many places around Bude and further away. Hosts were amazing and live next door but never intrusive. Would highly recommend and we will definitely stay again

Excellent property, very dog.Colin and Julie are great hosts. I highly recommend wind in the willows holiday cottage. Duck pool beach is only 10 minutes away and it's a little gem.

An idyllic cottage with gorgeous gardens that the owners were happy for us to wander around and make use of. Cottage had everything we needed, even treats, bowls and towels for the dogs. Great place, great space. I do not oversleep but failed to hear not 1 but 2 alarms everyday for a week, that in it's self should tell you something. Julie & Colin easy going couple will get on with anyone and the dogs too! I can't wait to go back and that goes for my 2 Jacks too!

Hands down our favourite cottage rental so far. Quiet, off the beaten track and in a beautiful setting. Thoughtfully furnished and has everything you need. Lovely owners who go above and beyond - coffee, milk and biscuits were so thoughtful and appreciated. This will be the first of many stays. Amazing

Really enjoyed my break at 'The Wind in the Willows'. Warm and cosy in a cold, snowy November. Quiet, out of the way location, but plenty of beaches and other places to explore within driving distance. Very dog friendly too.

The owners of the cottage were very welcoming,and the cottage and grounds were beautiful and very well looked after.The location was a little way out from the main road but the peace and quiet when you arrive at the cottage was well worthwhile.

Absolutely adorable place to stay, the hosts Colin & Julie were very friendly and informative. Nice quiet country lanes that could be walked along, lovely foot paths as well as being within easy reach if the coast and towns.
