  • Wooden cabin situated in a tranquil and rural location with the Luxulyan Valley - 1 mile from Eden Project entrance
  • Seven acres of meadows and woodland to explore and a five minute drive to the Cornish Coast
  • Unrivalled stargazing under pristine dark skies - Perfect for astrophotographers
Property code: OC-SYLVA

This cabin is the perfect place to come if you want to get away from it all, situated as it is in a quiet location in the picturesque Luxulyan Valley. Located within 7 acres of meadows and traditional broadleaf woodland with a quirky hobbit hamlet and bell tents and abundant wildlife and private interactive woodland trail. The cabin is situated in its own private garden with a beautiful aspect across the valley. The location of the cabin is off a country lane which also leads to The Treffry viaduct/aqueduct of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. The cabin lies 1 mile from Cornwall’s premier attraction The Eden Project and a little further afield, yet still within easy reach are The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the town of Newquay known for its beaches and surfing, and the pretty town of St Ives with its harbour, restaurants, and boutiques. Par Sands is within 3 miles, a lovely sandy beach surrounded by sand dunes with a small pond - recently named as one of the top 7 best dog friendly beaches by PDSA, it's ideal for playing and walking your dog and having a paddle in the sea.

The magic starts as soon as you park your car, with a short level walk to the cabin through the woodland (wheelbarrows for belongings are provided for ease) leading you to the haven that awaits. On arrival at the property the open-plan lounge/diner is the main space in the cabin and is simply and tastefully decorated, in keeping with the general sense of calm here. The wood burner sits in the corner, keeping the whole place warm and cosy. The first basket of logs is provided and more can be bought from the owner who harvests them from the surrounding woodland, at a cost of £5 per bag. There is a TV and DVD. The kitchen is small but efficient, with an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave. The shower room is also on the ground floor, with a corner shower cubicle and WC. A permanent ladder leads to the snug, platformed bed, which has reduced head room due to its location in the roof space. The bed here is a king-size and a window lies behind the head of the bed.

Outside, the property benefits from a veranda and garden, where guests can enjoy alfresco meals and those stunning views of the neighbouring woodland and valley. There is seating and a BBQ out here too along with a fire bowl, making the evenings a truly romantic experience. Arts and crafts workshops are available on site throughout the year. Bring sparkle to your winter and excitement to your summer at the Eden Project. Get your skates on for ice skating fun during winter and enjoy the seasonal activities, festive lights or explore the rainforest at twilight.  In summer get your dancing shoes on and enjoy world famous top musicians with the Eden Sessions (all events and skating opening dates can be found on Eden Project website) - ice skating is available from 14th October 2023 to February 2024, including half term week.

We recently stayed at Sylvan View with our two big dogs and absolutely loved it! Perfect place for our last minute peaceful getaway. The location is fantastic - the pictures dont do it justice. Its surrounded by acres of woodland with many walking trails right on the doorstep and just a short drive to some excellent dog-friendly beaches on the CornRead moreish coast. The cabin itself is cosy and well-equipped, with a lovely private garden and outdoor fire pit, which we enjoyed in the evenings. Everything was clean, comfortable and just what we needed for a relaxing break. The owners are genuinely lovely and made us feel very welcome. Its clear they care about the property and their guests. Wed highly recommend Sylvan View to couples and families would love the nearby camping and huts. Wed definitely return and have recommended to friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful stay! This is a thoroughly charming place - the grounds are beautiful and the owners friendly. We had a really relaxing getaway. The bluebells were amazing! The bed was very comfortable, but would not be possible for anyone who is not very agile or unable to kneel

A great place if you dont want to do move, a little to secluded. There was nothing else to do, I would recommend 2 days maximum just for the views and off grid location.. I think the price was too high for what the cabin has to offer.

We had such a lovely time staying at Sylvans View. The property was clean, comfortable and well located. We recommend bringing, or hiring, a car to ensure you can properly explore the beautiful surrounding areas. The owners, Tony and Rhia, were friendly and helpful during our stay which we really appreciated.

What an amazing venue, The location was easy to get to also shops, pubs and places to visit are very close by. As we went during November despite the weather being cold (the log burner helped and a nice touch) and wet we still found plenty to do. All in all it was a lovely winter get away. Sylvan View was a brilliant place to escape, it overlooks beautiful woodland which you can explore from the cabin and we spent hours wandering in the Luxulyan Valley without needing to drive anywhere. We loved our stay in this cosy lodge and didn't want to leave! We had everything we needed with a well equipped and good sized kitchen, comfy attic bed and plenty of hot water for post walk showers. We found Sylvan View to be even better than expected. It was very cosy and comfortable and the views were wonderful. It was so nice to go for a walk in the woods just beyond the cottage too. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

The cabin was in a beautiful location. Plenty of woodland walks on the doorstep and not far from the beaches. However I would not describe the accommodation as a cottage, it was a wooden cabin that really needed some maintenance work. It was quite shabby ie, the shower enclosure, the front door handle was loose, the overall appearance was rundown. Lovely stay and beautiful grounds! The bed was very comfortable, the shower was amazing and we had everything we could possibly need. Some great dog friendly beaches nearby and the Luxulyan Valley was stunning, particularly the viaduct.
