This spacious and contemporary apartment is situated near to the estuary in Brightlingsea, providing everything you’d want in a holiday retreat. Offering the perfect place to get away from it all by enjoying a spot of lunch in the local cafe on the harbour, where you can sit and watch the comings and goings of all the boats. The property is ideally placed to explore the Essex coast and countryside, from quaint seaside villages to thriving market towns, Essex has something for all. Local National Trust properties include Paycocke’s House and Gardens at Coggeshall and Bourne Mill at Colchester. Other attractions nearby include The Beth Chatto Gardens, Colchester Zoo and the Colne Valley Railway at Sible Hedingham.

As you enter this apartment, you arrive in the hallway on the ground floor which is also a utility room housing a washer/dryer and a little welcome pack for your dog. Head up the stairs to the first floor, you will find the master double bedroom on your right, which has plenty of storage for your belongings in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom is opposite and has a bath with shower over and WC. The kitchen is next along and is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine. The open-plan lounge/diner completes the property. There is a dining table and four chairs perfect should you wish to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, and the lounge area with a love chair and armchair and a Smart TV, the perfect spot to relax.

There is a balcony off the lounge area, which provides a lovely outdoor area for you to relax and unwind. There is a table and two chairs should you wish to enjoy some al fresco dining outside. There is secured allocated parking for one car.

This apartment was a little gem. In the heart of Brightlingsea, with shops, sea front, promenade, and good eateries all within walking distance. The apartment was lovely and clean, comfortable and cosy. Also in walking distance was a bus stop with regular buses to Colchester and Clacton. Salty Dog is obviously geared for dogs, and we don't have Read morea dog, but there were no signs other than towels and food bowls provided, that any dogs had stayed there. Parking for one car under cover and also an electric charging point. Would certainly stay here again when visiting the area. Hide

The property was both clean and comfortable, with a tasteful welcome pack. It was very convenient for the local shops, including a chemist. The local pub "The Yaughtsmans"Arms was very welcoming, and served delicious food at reasonable prices . There is a very regular bus service that takes you into Colchester town centre, not really worth taking yRead moreour car. Hide

The Salty Dog is a well cared for and comfortable property in a good location just a few minutes walk from the seafront. The owners attention to detail is excellent and guests are made to feel welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay at Salty Dog. Beautifully clean and well equipped. Thoughtful extras provided to make guests feel welcome. Handy location for the harbour and small town. We'd love to return and explore further.

A very comfortable apartment, well appointed and in a good central location. Don't be guided by the photos into thinking it has a view of the marina, it doesn't. Some great places to visit nearby if you love walking, bird life etc., Mersea Island by foot ferry, Brightlingsea estuary walk, Walton, Frinton, Wivenhoe and Flatford Mill all within easy Read moredistance. The interior design, colour scheme etc. of this accommodation was just lovely and it was the perfect size for two people. For comfort I would change the 1 large and 1 small chair to either two regular easy chairs or one full, two seater sofa. This would have the added advantage of both being able to face the TV. Our second stay at this clean and comfortable apartment which has everything you need and is lovely and warm. Really cannot fault it at all. Its location is handy for the seafront as well as local shops, pubs etc, and it is easy to reach Clacton, Harwich etc. We highly recommend and will return.

Great stay at the Salty Dog. This place is an excellent base for visiting the local area and it has easy access to local shops and restaurants if you don't want to use the car. The apartment is well equipped and has everything you need. Always very clean and tidy when you first arrive and the welcome pack is a great addition if you arrive late.

The cottage is in an excellent location both for town and lido etc. It can be a bit noisy with traffic early morning but its quiet at night. Locals all very friendly and pubs welcoming too. Lots of walks and lots to see for a relaxing stay.Very good museum,Frinton good for day out and Clacton outlet for shopping. Owners rang to say cottage was readRead morey early which was appreciated. Our second stay here and would return. Hide
