CHARMING COTTAGE IN CONSTABLE COUNTRY IN ESSEX SLEEPS 3 + 1

Situated down a quiet no through road close to the church in the picturesque village of Dedham, a perfect base to explore the surrounding villages and coastlines.   Further afield lies the beautiful villages of Long Melford and Lavenham steeped in history and the back drop to many television series including Love Joy. The Suffolk coast is close with the beautiful beaches and seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Attractions include Sutton Hoo, Framlingham, Orford Castle and Jimmy’s farm. For shopping head to Colchester, Freeport at Braintree and Ipswich.

On arrival guests enter the cottage into a hallway, where there is a cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin and stairs leading to the first floor. The lounge has a comfortable sofa and chair, TV and DVD, feature fire place with traditional tiles and French doors leading to an enclosed walled garden. The kitchen/diner is well equipped with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and table and chairs for dining. From the first floor landing there are two bedrooms, one double bedroom, one single bedroom with an additional pull out bed. The family shower room comprises of a double walk in shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin.

Lovely, spacious and airy modern cottage in a cul de sac, perfectly situated for access to Dedham's facilities. Lightweight duvets for summer. On a very hot week, we managed to keep the cottage reasonably cool. We would certainly recommend this place

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was comfy, well equipped and we loved the garden. Dedham is a beautiful place to stay with everything you need, shop, pubs, cafs and great walks on the doorstep. We were sad to leave as were our 2 dogs who also had a fantastic week.

The cottage is in a fantastic location a few minutes to Pubs, Cafes and shops. Fish & Chip van on Thursday was a bonus. Cressing Temple Barns and Beth Chatto Gardens are well worth visiting.

The cottage provides very good comfortable accommodation and is in a perfect position to enjoy the village and explore the local area. Excellent value and gave us a really great week.

A wonderful property in a stunning historical village. We appreciated the house being decorated for Christmas and the lovely welcome basket. There is a safe garden which will be beautiful in spring. The village has a sell stocked shop, so we needn't have brought so much! Two gorgeous, atmospheric pubs close by. We ate in the Malborough on ChristmasRead more Eve and it was really nice. We also had a great meal at Lecce in Manningtree. Some very beautiful well signposted walks to enjoy too. Hide

Our second visit here. The Cottage is clean, cosy and comfortable with a really homely feel. Since our last visit, the outside space at the rear has been redesigned and there's now direct access to a secluded garden with table & chairs. The Cottage is in a very quiet cul-de-sac just off Dedham's main street. Dedham itself is a delightful village. We had a really good few days at this lovely cosy cottage, tastefully decorated and accessorised in a great location with multiple walks from the front door. Lovely shower and spotless towels and bed linen. Fully enclosed walled garden for the dog but no rear access if they are very dirty and no outside tap. Helpful walking routes info in lounge. LRead moreots of local walks or Flatford and Manningtree are a bit further. Long Melford is charming and Melford Country Park is a lovely walk too. Hide

Really loved The Cottage, which suited 2 retired school friends and a dog, very well. Plenty of space inside, lovely to sit in the garden, comfy beds, excellent walk-in shower. Great central location for all village amenities, we certainly didnt need the car every day. I certainly hope to stay in The Cottage again, as theres so much more than we weRead morere able to see in a week, in this beautiful part of the UK. My dog loved the numerous footpaths. Hide

A cosy cottage in a great location, a brief walk to to the shops and cafes. The biggest surprise was the large private garden with outdoor seating, and a mature apple tree. I would happily stay here again.

We had a lovely week in this centrally located cottage, enjoying mornings and evenings in the garden, before heading out to explore the local footpaths. Good sized kitchen to make supper in the evening, as well as two pubs in the village. Lots to do and see locally.

Great location for walking to shops and coffee. Parking space very much appreciated as High Street parking very busy with tourists. Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The enclosed rear garden a bonus.

An excellent cottage right in the heart of Dedham, close to several shops, yet quiet. Plenty of space in the sitting room, hall and main bedroom. All tastefully decorated. The walled garden at the back is sunny and sheltered, a delight. A luxury walk-in shower, oodles of hot water.

We stayed 4 nights at The Cottage which is centrally located down a quiet lane. In easy walking distance of small Co-Op, and a few other shops and pubs. The property is fairly compact but had everything we needed. Pleasantly decorated lounge and pretty garden. Good shower. Small second bedroom had a useful hanging rail but no wardrobe or drawer spaRead morece. A sweet cottage in a beautiful location. We only stayed for a weekend as visiting relatives nearby. The tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were appreciated after a long journey. We enjoyed walking to Flatford Mill - there are plenty of walks around the village. We ate in the Sun Inn and Essex Rose Tea Room - both a short distance from the property. Dedham itself is a joy and the cottage- central but quiet- was perfect. What a lovely walled garden! The bedrooms, living room and kitchen were light and roomy and it's great to have a sizeable hall. We had a perfect week, walking everywhere so the car stayed put all but one day. The host couldn't have been more helpful.

Stayed a week while visiting family member. The property was warm, comfortable and well equipped. Treated to basic necessities and some nice treats too. Small patio with good sized enclosed grassed garden with mature trees and flower beds. Fortunate to have a car space as village gets very busy. Really liked the location. We went for a week at Christmas, when we arrived you could see the Christmas tree lights through the window it was so warm ,cosy and welcoming. We had all we needed. Lovely local walks around flatford mill. A lovely quiet comfortable week.

A lovely cottage to stay in. Very convenient for the middle of the delightful village of Dedham. Parking space essential to have available - in peak season the village is very "touristy" and road parking would be tricky. Well postioned house for access to two pubs and the cafes.

This is a lovely cottage perfectly positioned in Dedham. It was spotless and comfortable. The second bedroom is very small (as is common in English cottages) and has a trundle bed setup. We loved our few days in Dedham at this lovely home.
