Property code: OC-WCC07

This property, suitable for couples and family getaways, is located within a short walk of all that the attractive town of Whitstable has to offer. The vibrant high street and famous Harbour Street, offer a wonderful range of independent shops where guests will find an unusual array of clothes, gifts, books, and homeware. There are also a number of specialist food shops, which are great for those who prefer to eat-in whilst on holiday, however, guests may find it hard to resist the town’s impressive choice of restaurants, gastropubs, and cafes including dog friendly pubs and restaurants. The pretty beach stretches around the bay from the town to the neighbouring village of Tankerton, where two rows of colourful beach huts line the gently-sloping shingle. Canterbury and other seaside towns are also only a short drive away.

The front door of this property opens directly into the open plan lounge/diner, with the lounge area situated at the front of the cottage. Guests will find it easy to make themselves at home here, with its comfortable seating, gas fireplace, DAB radio, and Smart TV. To the rear of this room, past the stairs, is the dining area, a lovely light-filled space with a large dining table and a cosy wood burner. Beyond the dining area, guests will find the property’s galley-style kitchen which is equipped with everything they will need, including an oven, hob, Nespresso machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. As is usual in this style of property, the bathroom can also be found on the ground floor, offering a shower-over-bath and WC. Steep, cottage-style wooden stairs lead to the first floor, where guests will find two of the cottage’s three bedrooms. Both of these are pleasant double rooms with some attractive original features. A further set of steep, narrow stairs leads up to the attic space on the second floor which has been converted to a light and airy twin room, which benefits from a Smart TV . Please be aware that this room has a sloping ceiling and some reduced head-height. Please note this room does not have its own door, steps open directly into the loft room.

To the rear of the property, there is an enclosed garden which has a decked seating area with patio furniture, providing guests with the ideal space to enjoy alfresco drinks or meals. At the end of the garden there is a secure gate, which allows guests to bring bikes round. The cottage is in the conservation area where parking is free but space is limited. At busy times parking can be found a short walk away near the station.

It was a lovely little house, ideally situated for the town centre. The stairs are steep particularly to the attic room but our 87 year old mum negotiated them okay. Very warm and cosy. The gas fire was excellent. We had a great stay over the new year.

Very much enjoyed our stay at warm and comfortable Crinkle Cottage - there was more equipment than we had time to use. The log burners were a treat and the small garden totally secure for dogs. Ideally close to the town and seafront while at the same time the neighbourhood was quiet. Parking - you will be lucky to park outside but there were spacesRead more in nearby roads. Hide

This is a lovely cottage with a nicely refurbished kitchen and bathroom Very well equipped - including cafetire and champagne glasses (my gold standard). Well furnished, cosy & warm without being too cluttered. The living room furniture was not terribly comfortable, but ok. Great location- a couple of minutes walk from shops/beach/leisure centre. The cottage is well located in the heart of Whitstable and is well equipped. It has a nice enclosed garden with seating area which is useful if you have a dog. This is our second stay at the cottage.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crinkle Cottage. Very comfortable home from home - close to all amenities, but very quiet. Excellent dog friendly cafes, restaurants and an all year round dog-friendly beach a short walk away.. Crinkle cottage is in a fantastic location for the beach, shops and restaurants. The cottage itself is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Its an especially good place to stay if you have a dog. We stayed for one month whilst between house moves and enjoyed our time. The garden is secure and a lovely addition and we found the area peaceful in the Read moreevenings. The owner could not have been more helpful, even putting a desk in one of the rooms as my husband works from home. Hide
