Property code: OC-88327

This traditional brick and flint Norfolk cottage served as the village Post Office for decades but is now a cosy home with some original features such as ledged doors with wrought iron latches upstairs. It’s situated in the centre of the rural village of Northrepps, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you are just one mile from the coast on a direct footpath and just 10 minutes walk to bluebell woods. The vibrant village pub is close by too.

You enter the cottage through the back door accessed via the courtyard garden which leads you into a well-appointed kitchen. There’s an electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, and washing machine. After a long day out exploring the area, the open-plan lounge/dining area offers two comfortable sofas and an armchair, positioned in front of the electric feature fireplace and TV, so cosy up, unwind and watch your favourite programme of an evening. The dining area has a table and four chairs and there’s a pine dresser for storage too. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all with ample storage space for your clothes and personal items. The master bedroom has a solid pine double bed with sprung memory foam mattress and the remaining two rooms are singles, again with sprung memory foam mattresses. One bedroom has a trundle pull-out bed so can be a twin room if required. All bedrooms have use of a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. The enclosed courtyard garden area is a pleasant area to relax, perhaps with a drink or two, and is also a great place to dine alfresco with the garden furniture provided. Parking for the property is behind the cottage in a designated spot for one car. There is on-street parking close by (subject to availability).

The village offers easy access to the very best of North Norfolk. Stroll or cycle along pretty countryside lanes to Overstrand (1 mile) with cliff top walks and a wide sandy beach. Cromer (3.5 miles) offers something for everyone with the pavilion theatre on the pier, traditional amusements, crazy golf and Amazona Zoo along with award-winning fish and chips. It’s one of the few places on the East Coast where you can watch the sun rise and set over the sea in the spring and summer months. The town of Sheringham (8.5 miles) hosts the North Norfolk Railway which sees historic steam trains trundle through the county’s most stunning coastal scenery to the Georgian town of Holt, which has an array of independent boutique shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and art galleries.

Nice place, parking was good and straight forward to find, with pub on right side straight after third cottage down on the left, just before pub car park entrance on the right, turn left up pebbled drive way, then turn left, then straight forward, park up to wall keep to right side near round green bins, no problem. Basic, clean, good value.

We had a pleasant stay. The cottage was adequately equipped and the beds particularly comfy. The cottage was an ideal location for visiting the Overstrand beach, which was only a 20-minute walk down the road. It's also only a short drive to Cromer and was ideal during Carnival Week. The pub over the road was handy. It was a little noisy but never lRead moreate. Hide

With plenty of old cottage charm( bit quirky and not fussy) the Old Post Office in Northrepps is in a quiet but great location opposite a pub with live music on a Sunday ( but not too late) and ideal for walks to the beach, cafe, shop and pub at Overstrand or down a country lane to woodland. The cottage needs updating everything is a bit worn. It is very noisy when traffic goes by. Next door pub food is lovely. Nice cottage, but stairs are too steep for us. Not really suitable for elderly people.

The old post office, is a lovely place to stay. Lovely village and only a mile walk to the beach. Grandchildren loved it and the beach is a lovely sandy beach. Will come back again.

We had a good stay in Northrepps. Old Post Office is well positioned to reach all of the local towns within half an hour or so. Pub opposite is really good for eating in or takeaways but gets busy at times. Accommodation is good, beds comfy. Garden is a bit small if you have a couple of dogs with you - but it does get the sun and you could eat out Read morethere. You get used to the parking space - having someone guide you out on to the road is a good idea. A nice relaxing week away Hide
