The Malt Whisky Trail is great for dram enthusiasts, and there are plenty of attractions within close proximity of the cottage, including an outdoor activity centre and Grantown East – a culture and heritage centre with a cafe, visitor centre and a converted train carriage. Further afield is Ballindalloch Castle, where you can take a tour around the home where the MacPherson-Grants have lived since 1546.
The entrance hallway at the property leads to a cosy lounge, with a wood burner, TV and plenty of board games to keep everyone entertained. Through to the galley-style kitchen, which is bright and contains an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and washing machine, along with a small table that is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a quick breakfast. There is a conservatory that leads on from the kitchen which has a dining table for six guests and is a lovely place to spend evenings watching the sunset. Also on the ground floor is a spacious king-size bedroom that is located at the front of the cottage and decorated with lovely pieces of art. The bathroom has a hand-held shower over the bath, a separate shower, WC and double vanity. Upstairs on the first floor are two further bedrooms – a king-size with en-suite bathroom with hand-held shower over bath and WC, and a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request).
The garden is completely enclosed and has a grassy area to the rear and side of the property, with garden furniture that let you sit and soak up the sun on a nice day. The gravel driveway at the front of the cottage has ample parking for up to three cars. There is a secure outbuilding that guests are welcome to use for storing outdoor equipment such as bikes, fishing rods and golf clubs.
