We stayed in this beautiful cottage for a week in June. Everything was great - a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sofas and beds. We appreciated the 100% cotton bedding as well, as this is something often skimped on by cottage owners. Archiestown itself is a lovely little village and there is a really nice forest walk just two minutes from the coRead morettage. There is a bar and restaurant opposite the cottage but, please note, it is not dog-friendly. You can sit outside, though. The nearest supermarkets are about 10-15 minute drive away so you need to be prepared! I would definitely recommend and hope to return another time. Hide

A beautiful, comfortable cottage opposite a very good restaurant in a lovely, historic village. The walks around the village offer wonderful views and the opportunity to buy local produce.

"Pointers Rest" was a bit more remote & with sparse amenities locally than we had anticipated, so best to keep this in mind, and be organised with groceries & supplies. The cottage would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are steps between the levels and staircases leading to the upper bedrooms, one of which was very steep. ThRead moree village was lovely & quiet. Hide
