As the largest village on the Isle of Arran, Brodick offers a range of amenities for visitors, including independent stores, friendly pubs and restaurants serving local produce. Take a Segway tour through the Arran countryside; slide, swim and jump your way through a gorge walking adventure or take to the water on a sea kayaking experience. For a more relaxed day out, head to the sandy beach at Brodick or take the footpath to the quieter beach at Strabane. Lace up your walking boots for a hike through Kildonan Forest (13 miles) to reach the spectacular Eas Mor waterfall or wonder at the giant boulders and ‘Sleeping Giant' at the Fallen Rocks (7.5 miles).

Tucked away off Shore Road and enjoying a set-back location, your imposing holiday home is approached along the driveway leading through the lawned front garden. Step through the front door into the grand entrance hallway with sweeping staircase and space to leave coats and boots. With its large bay window, soothing tones and plump sofas, your living room is an inviting space to relax after a busy day, catch up on family news or simply sit and watch your favourite TV programme. Younger guests have their own playroom with areas for board games, puzzles and space to sprawl and watch TV. Gather the whole family around the elegant dining table for special dinners or leisurely suppers, comfortably seating up to 14 guests, so you can sit and socialise late into the evening. Your kitchen is a cook's dream equipped with electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. When it's time for bed, head up the wide staircase to the galleried landing where you will find four of the five bedrooms. Two super king-size bedrooms have comfy beds dressed in thick duvets with bright soft furnishings and ample storage space. A further king-size bedroom is warm and inviting with a tub chair to curl up in to relax with the latest novel. Younger guests can enjoy sleepovers in the family room with two sets of bunk beds dressed in colourful duvets. The first of two spacious bathrooms is situated on this floor with a shower over bath and WC. Heading back downstairs you will find a further light and airy king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC and a second family bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Heating broken and really disappointed in lack of Christmas decoration. One artificial tree with a string of lights on it in the dining/kitchen is hardly what I would call 'decorated for Christmas'. With a young child I wanted a magical Christmas and this is not it. I gave up on better properties and chose this one purely for the false claim that iRead moret would be decorated. Every morning I had to spend up to 90 minutes fiddling with the thermostat to hopefully get the heating to switch on! Hide

Everyone was delighted with the house and want to return next year which will be our fourth visit to Arran. We had a lovely house in Lamlash the previous two years but it was sold this year so we had to find another property. Brodick turned out to be a much better better location with the co-op at the bottom of the road and access to the great bus Read moreservice.. On the journey home we were on the Pentland ferry at 0745 and it was very cold and not even a cup of tea was available. Hide

Beautiful house, close to the centre of Brodick with plenty of space for the extended family. The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds/bedding and plenty of storage. All 3 bathrooms were recently upgraded with good showers. The dining table is excellent for family meals, chatting, jigsaws and is the focal point of the house.

Had a great time in Arandel despite the weather and cancelled ferries. Lots of room for our party to have their own space. Great location, walked to beautiful Glen Rosa, drive to Glen Sannox, kids enjoyed pony riding and crazy golf.

A fantastic old house in a convenient location in Brodick with easy access to amenities and things to do. Very spacious and great for a large group or family. The play room was packed with toys and kept our four children very happy. The garden is secure and dog friendly. Updated bathrooms were a nice surprise but we found the beds uncomfortable.
