Property code: OC-83017

Located in rural Achnasheen right on the NC500 route, this property is ideal for those looking for a base from which to explore the West coast and the Highland region. Hikers will enjoy a trip to nearby Torridon where you will find the likes of Beinn Alligin and Beinn Dearg. For those who prefer to explore on two wheels rather than by foot, there are lots of forest trails (including Contin), and the likes of Gairloch with its sandy beaches is around thirty miles from the property, which makes a great day trip. The bridge to the Isle of Skye is less than an hour’s drive away, so there is a great opportunity to explore different areas during your stay.

The property entrance leads into a spacious hallway, where you can then head into the heart of the house. The lounge is spacious and has a large window with seating that lets you take in the loch views. There is also a Smart TV and a wood burner, as well as plenty of comfortable seating for all guests. The kitchen is traditional but contains all of the appliances you could need for cooking up a storm, including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer. There is an informal breakfast table that seats eight in the kitchen, but for more formal dinners you can eat in the dining room which has lovely views from the windows. The ground floor has three twin bedrooms, all decorated and furnished to keep within the style of the lodge, and one bedroom has loch views. The bathroom with bath and WC and a shower room with WC is located on this level, along with a washing machine which is located in the under the stair cupboard. The first floor is home to two single bedrooms that both have additional steps up to the beds that have been built up from the floor. One of these single beds is full size, with the other being slightly smaller meaning it may be unsuitable for tall adults.

Outside, the garden mainly consists of grassed areas and is completely enclosed, with garden furniture allowing you to sit and relax whilst taking in your peaceful surroundings. Guests have direct access to the river, which can be reached by walking down the hill just over the boundary fence. Please note that there are sheep surrounding the property, so dogs must be kept under control at all times. There is plenty of parking on the gravel driveway for up to four cars.

  • 5 bedrooms – 3 twins (1with  zip and link option, which can be made up as double on request at time of booking) and 2 singles

The cottage is amazing, only big issue was one shower between 8 people is not enough! Knives in the kitchen were blunt and the oven is very slow. Otherwise fab place to stay.

Brilliant to have twin and single rooms for our group of eight individual walkers. Superb situation for Munro bagging. Delightful large lounge window looking to the loch. We had wonderful weather throughout and it was great to sit in the garden on rest days as well as hang out our washing there.

We had such a lovely stay at the Lodge. The environment was very special, made more so by the visiting deer. A great location to travel around but with some great walks nearby.

A comfortable and cosy cottage, with a fantastic view on the lake and the hills. It is ideally situated for a hiking holiday.

We've stayed here on many occasions now and have never been disappointed. The location is perfect for what we need it for.....fishing. Unfortunately, you can't choose the weather though. The cottage provides a great kitchen with everything needed to entertain a large party. the bedrooms are spacious and the living room with the log burner adds to tRead morehe ambience of a highland stay. We'll be back next year and hopefully the weather will be accommodating, fingers crossed. Hide
