This characterful former croft cottage sits on the most northerly point of Britain at Dunnet Head. An amazing untamed landscape with stunning sea cliffs and coastal grasslands is home to the RSPB nature reserve. On a clear day, you will have fantastic views across to Orkney, and you can enjoy a day trip there during the summer months with an organised tour leaving from John O’ Groats 12 miles away. Within 2 miles you will find the white sands of Dunnet beach stretching around the bay and offering great opportunities to sunbathe, paddle, and swim. A must-see stop on your NC500 adventure is a visit to the Mey Castle & Visitor Centre just 7 miles and still the summer residence of Prince Charles & Camilla.

The conservatory is perfectly positioned so you can relax and enjoy the sea views, situated adjacent is the cosy lounge area with wood burning stove for relaxing nights in so you can watch a movie together and plan the next day’s adventures. There is a lovely contemporary kitchen for sharing the cooking and a dining area to eat at or play board games. The main bathroom is styled to match its coastal location. The large and spacious master bedroom next to the lounge benefits from having its own en-suite facilities including very welcoming heated flooring and an infrared sauna. This quirky croft retaining many of its original features has a very narrow stairway leading to the double bedroom and twin on the first floor. Completing the property is the family bathroom.

The large enclosed garden area has a fire pit, hot tub on raised decking, and outdoor summer house with garden seating for those windier days in the north. There is ample parking and a garage for bike storage.

Lovely cottage, perfect for a couple, although there are extra rooms upstairs (a little precarious!!) Location is great for peace and views are amazing. Deer, birds, seals, it's just beautiful. The hot tub is perfect after a day of walking, it's perfect for dogs (watch for ticks!!) What an unbelievable spot. Ocean view, plenty of parking, heated floors in the bathrooms, spa, sauna, very well equiped kitchen and dining, I could go on. There are so many little escape spots, both in the cottage and garden that make it easy for a group to find time. We really enjoyed the stay in this lovely and charming cottage. There are two bathrooms which was great and there was even a funny little Harry Potter loo in a closet at the upper floor. The hot tub in the garden was very inviting and we used it every day with delight. The highlight was the sun room with the two chairs: Great view of the shore and Read moreeven deer to watch in the meadow next to the property. The perfect cottage for a calm vacation in the north. Far North is an idyllic spot for a relaxing break. The views and local wild life add to the appeal of the location. The hot tub after a daily walk or trip out was perfect. The cottage is fully kitted out and short of nothing, would love to go back if we ever return to Scotland

The situation of the cottage is amazing. So many birds. We even saw a roe deer in the field in front of the cottage a couple of evenings. Lots to do. Nearby Castle of Mey a 'must see' and several ancient sites. The sun porch was brilliant, though fighting might break out if there were more than two staying, and we loved the underfloor heating in thRead moree ensuite. Hide

Very beautiful location, but the outside path is a health hazard, in urgent need of repair! There is no bubble as promised but a wooden shed with garden furniture! The views are excellent which makes up for a lot.
