Facilities such as the swimming pool, climbing walls and crazy golf provide fun for all the family. Considered the outdoor capital of the Lakes, there are lots of adventure activity providers for sailing, mountain biking, kayaking and ghyll scrambling. Keen walkers and hikers can tick off a few of Wainwrights’ favourites and tackle Skiddaw and Blencathra, both within 7 miles. Explore the lovely gardens and parkland at Mirehouse and Gardens, 4.5 miles whilst Wordsworth House, 13 miles, offers the chance for all ages to experience life in the 1770s. Travel 25 miles to The Solway Coast for a picnic on the beach and a seaside stroll.

Part of an elegant Georgian house that has been thoughtfully redesigned to retain its period charm, this cottage has been extended and updated to create a spacious, sleek and elegant holiday home. Enter the hallway and remove your boots and coats before heading to the delightful open-plan living space. The heart of the house, it stretches through to the rear patio. The living area has two deep red velvet sofas arranged around the wood burner ideal for cosy evenings in with a film on the TV. Step up into the kitchen/diner where underfloor heating keeps your toes warm and Velux windows and full-width, bi-fold doors create a sense of space and light. Equipped with a large electric range-style oven with five gas hobs, a fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher, gather at the hand-crafted dining table for sociable mealtimes. On warm days, open the doors to let the fresh air breeze in. A WC and utility cupboard completes the ground floor. Upstairs on the first floor, the first double bedroom has wonderful views to the fells and an en-suite shower room. There is a further double bedroom, and the spacious family bathroom has a shower over the bath. Up to the second floor, the bright twin bedroom has Velux windows looking out to the church and fells while the bathroom has a slipper bath with a hand-held shower attachment.

Outside to the rear and accessed from the living space, there is a wonderful walled garden with raised beds and a patio perfect for al fresco dining morning, noon and night. There is an outhouse laundry room with washer/dryer and plenty of space for bike storage.

Rose Place is a beautiful cottage tucked away so its lovely and quiet but within minutes walk of the centre and the lake. The cottage itself has everything you could need and it very comfortable. We managed to park easily on surrounding streets. Highly recommended.

The perfect Keswick retreat. Extremly central and on a very quiet road. The property itself was beautifuly funished, with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. It was great to have all the essentials stocked as well. We loved the views from the top floor of the town and surrounding peaks. Spacious, yet cozy. A real home from home.

A very comfortable property in a quiet area of town. Equipment and fittings in the kitchen are of a very high standard, and it was good to note that some essentials - e.g cleaning materials, hand wash etc - were supplied. Really enjoyed the kitchen and dining areas and the fact that the centre of town is close by. Found parking space a few minutes Read moreaway most days. Only two of us, so we had plenty of room- might be a bit cramped for six, but a really lovely house fora relaxing week. Hide

Beautifully positioned cottage in the heart of Keswick close to amenities. We found the beds to be harder than we like and as such two of us suffered from bad backs. The ground floor was modern, light and well appointed but could be improved with a new couch. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Best part of the cottage was the large windows offering gRead morereat views, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the weather change over Dodds Wood in the distance. Hide
