Chic, cosy and inspired by the ocean, this contemporary holiday annexe is perfect for couples hoping to discover the best of Cornwall with up to one furry friend tagging along. The property is set in the small coastal village of Phillack, and sits within just 8 miles of Hayle, Carbis Bay, and popular St Ives. Nearby Hayle (1.5 miles) offers a wide choice of unique shops, places to eat, and family attractions – including opportunities for waterside strolls along the RSPB’s Hayle Estuary. For days on the beach, guests are spoiled by the wealth of sandy options on their doorstep, including Mexico Towans Beach, The Towans, Upton Towans Beach, Gwithian Beach, and Godrevy Beach (all within 4 miles). Cover this entire stretch of shoreline with a bracing walk along the famous South West Coast Path (1 mile).

On entering this bijou property for two, you will first encounter its social heart, the open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner. Settle in the sumptuous seating after days of coastal adventure, flicking on the wall-mounted Smart TV or catching up on your holiday read. When stomachs start to rumble, find that the small but well-equipped kitchen boasts all you need to whip up a feast, perhaps using the seafood you sourced earlier in the day. Enjoy the chef’s work at the wheeled dining table inside or dine alfresco-style out in the enclosed garden. Completing the ground floor is a convenient utility room which leads to the well-appointed shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. At night, follow the stairs to the first floor to find a restful, king-size bedroom that sits under the eaves of the property and offers views across the surrounding fields. Guests can also make use of one private, off-road parking space.

Outside, make full use of the peaceful garden which is enclosed and furnished for your comfort and privacy. Use the table and chairs out here to enjoy al fresco morning coffees and evening meals, and when it gets chilly, fire up the impressive fire pit and sit under the stars.

Surf Haven is a great pet-friendly place to stay and in a perfect location for the golden sands at Hayle and Gwithian. The dog also loved the towans with the rabbits. We were able to visit many places during our week stay.

This property is not suitable for older people ; the stairs are steep and the shower room/toilet sis on a different floor from the bedroom, making night time visits difficult. However the property is well situated with easy access to the Mexico Towans (sand dune area) and the beach, which is beyond the dunes. Also there is easy access to the main rRead moreoad system, which facilitates the exploration of the delightful county that is Cornwall. Hide

Wow the location is perfect, nestled right on the edge of the dunes. A really lovely easy walk to the beach. The property is immaculate and has great facilities. Its small but was perfect for me and my dog or 2 people. The outdoor space is a wonderful addition. Lots to do and see nearby.

A great place to stay. Well situated to explore both locally and further afield. The local pub was nice and the walk into Hayle not too far so local transport could be used. The red folder with its recommendations was useful and the welcome pack appreciated. We really enjoyed our holiday!

Very quiet location. 900m from the sea, 25metres from sand dunes to walk the dog- perfect! House was well equipped and with modern finishings. Plenty to do in and around Hayle to keep busy. Would definitely return again next year!
