Property code: OC-BX013

This property is located a stone’s throw from the town centre of Brixham, situated in an elevated position on the west side of Torbay. Brixham itself is a harbour town, with a proud maritime history, which visitors may like to explore by jumping on board the fascinating replica of the Golden Hind. The harbour continues to be busy today, and there is a flourishing fishing industry which is very much in evidence from the town’s numerous pubs and restaurants which specialise in the local seafood. There are several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including Shoalstone Beach, which has the additional draw of a wonderful 53 metre tidal pool, providing safe bathing, no matter what the conditions at sea.

Several exterior steps lead to the front door of this attractive property, bringing guests to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a lovingly styled room with some tasteful retro design touches. The lounge, is a welcoming light-filled space with a large sofa and comfortable chairs surrounding the TV and cosy open fire. Enjoy the  views to the town’s harbour from the lounge.  One step up leads to the kitchen/diner with its dining table and breakfast bar providing plenty of space for family meals. Guests will easily find everything they need to make themselves at home in the kitchen, including an oven, hob, microwave and fridge. The washing machine and freezer, meanwhile, can be found in a separate covered utility area. On the first floor of the property are two bedrooms, the first of these is a double room which has the unusual benefit of its own  covered conservatory which overlooks the garden and provides a lovely private space to sit and relax. The second bedroom on this floor is a twin bedroom, whilst the first-floor bathroom offers a shower and WC. The master bedroom, a double room, occupies the second floor of the property and enjoys views of the harbour and beyond to the sea.

Outside, to the rear of the properties, the garden is made up of several charming terraced patio spaces with steps connecting each area. Garden furniture is provided so that guests can make the most of these outdoor spaces, and one area is covered to provide shelter and a handy drying space. Please note that there are steep steps linking the patio areas, so children will need to be supervised. There is a parking space provided to the side of the property, please note this is on a steep incline, additional on street parking is available on a first come basis

Lovely house in a perfect location with brilliant views. The house was clean, well equipped and in great decorative order with a new bathroom. The shower was hot and powerful! Fantastic terrace for outdoor dining and relaxing. You'll need to be fit to cope with the steep hill and steps in the house and garden. The parking space is not for the fainRead moret hearted, but I managed to park my large car with the wheels turned towards the wall and using a choc under a wheel. You have to reverse over uneven ground into a small space on a steep incline and have a reliable hand break. I chose to park elsewhere on the local streets, except on the last night ahead of an early start. Overall, a really great house close to the heart of Brixham. Hide

The location of scallops is brilliant- although the steps into town take some getting used to- Old Market House and the Prince William are good for Dutch courage! There is a large garden, split over four levels and lots of steps so bear in mind if youre travelling with limited mobility. The drive way is difficult to use as its at a steep inclineRead more which meant we only used it when there was no one parked next to it as you need a good run up and with the limited parking, people didnt park within the marked bays adjacent The log burner was a highlight for us and the welcome gifts were very thoughtful. The cottage was perfect for our getaway, a couple with 2 adult sons and a Collie dog. A very active little town with steep alleys and paths with lots of steps leading down to the harbour. The accommodation had everything one could need just like home. A lovely location right opposite two lanes leading to the town centre.

Great location and views and comfortable and well equipped. We had a good time, on site parking not easy to use but you will get use to it, but very beneficial due to minimal parking in the area. Thanks Brett and Andrea

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable well equipped cottage. The accommodation space was well thought out and the garden was excellent. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare our meals and the hob and cooker were perfect. We had stunning views across the bay with lovely sunsets.

Very nice cottage. Lovely views. You do have to be fit as it's a long way down to the town and of course you have to walk back up. The parking is on a steep incline and I was very worried about my clutch, so we decided to use the buses to get around which was very easy. The cottage has all you need. Beds are comfortable and everywhere clean. This cRead moreottage is a good base for your holiday. Hide
