It's said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stokers Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town.

Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch. I spent a lovely week staying here and exploring Whitby. A wonderful little place in a perfect location. You can feel the history imbuing it from the moment you set foot off church street. Can't wait to pay a second visit.

The cottage is clean with comfy furniture and beds. We enjoyed our stay greatly. If you're cooking remember to put the extracter on full over the cooker and open the kitchen window as we set the smoke alarm off a couple of times.

Clean and cozy. Very lively location. Picturesque - lovely to hear the sea lapping in the evening. Great dog beaches close by. No wifi but I was able to buy a week's worth from a well known provider who operates in Whitby. Two flights of very steep and narrow stairs - would not suit anyone not happy going up and down these multiple times a day. ParRead moreking was difficult, so you have to be prepared to do a bit of a walk to and from wherever you park. Whitby is nice, lots going on, very busy. Response from Holidaycottages.co.uk The property now has WiFi Hide
