Perfectly positioned between the lively spa town of Matlock (0.5 miles) with a train station and the vibrant riverside village of Matlock Bath (0.5 miles) with a train station, this stylish cottage sits in one of the Peak District’s most characterful locations. Often referred to as Little Switzerland, Matlock Bath is known for its dramatic limestone cliffs, riverside walks and traditional amusements, while Matlock offers independent shops, cafés, restaurants and the beautiful Hall Leys Park. Directly opposite the property rises the striking limestone face of High Tor, a favourite viewpoint for walkers. A little further, the spectacular viewpoint at Black Rocks is just 3 miles away, while the Cromford Mills, part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, sits 2 miles away. The cottage itself offers a beautifully styled blend of boutique interiors and country charm, with bold colours, thoughtful touches and luxurious details throughout. Step through the front door into the welcoming entrance hall. To the left sits the cosy lounge, where deep colours, comfortable seating and local artwork create a warm and relaxing space to unwind. The electric flame-effect wood burner adds to the atmosphere. To the right of the hallway is the dining room, a characterful space filled with colour and personality. Here you’ll also find practical storage for coats and boots, along with a large wall map ready to inspire your next adventure. Continue through to the rear of the cottage, and discover a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of room for meal prep. Upstairs are two generously sized double bedrooms, each thoughtfully styled to create a comfortable and restful retreat. The bathroom is a highlight, offering a luxurious space with double sinks, a beautiful free-standing bath and a separate shower. Elegant fittings and soft tones create a spa-like feel that invites you to slow down and indulge.

We have just spent 5 days at Fern Cottage and what a lovely place it was. Everything in the property appeared to be new and the owner has thought of everything. It was very comfortable, clean and the kitchen was well stocked with staples plus a lovely basket of bread, scones and milk on arrival. The cottage is in easy walk of Matlock and Matlock BaRead moreth and although on the A6 we didn't notice the traffic once inside. Great place to stay as very easy to explore the area from here plus good walks on your doorstep. Hide

A beautifully decorated and furnished cottage with everything you would need for a short break. Ideally positioned to explore the area, the downside being the busy road and offsite car parking, but minor points.

What a beautiful well equipped cottage. Very clean, cosy and perfectly put together. Everything in working order. I was well impressed with their polite nicely spoken fire alarm speaker, i sprayed deoderant rather generously and set the alarm off for a few moments, very up to date fancy alarm indeed! impressive! i would give the cottage 6 stars buRead moret then too many people would book it and i wouldn't be able to get in there. lol. Absoluetly loved the place. Already recommended to my friends. Hide
