An enchanting rural Scottish cottage, this truly special retreat opens up to reveal gorgeous interiors and an exceptional level of comfort. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom hideaway nestles at Spittal of Glenshee, 20 miles from Blairgowrie, in the southern swathes of the magnificent Cairngorms National Park. With something to offer everyone all year round, it makes a great base for skiing enthusiasts eager to enjoy the snow. The Glenshee Ski Centre, which is also popular for snowboarding, is 6.5 miles away. In the warmer months, there is ample opportunity for walking, hiking, mountain biking and Munro bagging in your picturesque Scottish surroundings. Venture into Blairgowrie to shop, dine out and try water sports. On the way home, pause at the Persie Distillery, at Auchenflower, 11 miles from the cottage, to see how its local gin is made and sample a sip or two.

Take in the dramatic scenery before entering the charming whitewashed cottage via the front door. Hang your outerwear and unlace your walking boots before moving on into the stylish kitchen/diner. Prepare all your holiday meals here and gather around the farmhouse table to dine, play games and chat about your day. Head through to the beautiful, beamed lounge, with its plump seating and carefully chosen furnishings, to light the wood burner in the striking stone fireplace. While away cosy evenings here with films on the Smart TV. When night falls, climb the stairs to the top floor of the charming retreat. Here, you have your equally enticing bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. Both rooms offer exceptional comfort and style through their lavish touches. Wake up to gaze out of the window or savour the luxury of watching another Smart TV in bed. The family bathroom, with its chic finish, provides a bath to soak in, as well as a shower.

Make the most of the sizeable, enclosed garden on sunny days. Enjoy al fresco dining as you look towards the snow-capped mountains. Dine out here at the height of summer, too. Wander through the gate for beautiful hillside strolls. There is off-road, driveway parking for two cars.

We had a most relaxing stay at Logie Cottage at Glenshee. The setting is nothing short of spectacular, with superb views up the glen towards the ski slopes and down the Shee Water. The cottage has been exquisitely renovated to a high standard in a traditional cottage manner. The decoration is tasteful with pictures of typical highland scenes decoraRead moreting the walls. Underfloor heating in the kitchen and hall areas is a real bonus in the cooler months. It feels very much like a family home and is fully equipped with everything you could ever need. A lovely hamper awaited us on arrival. The cosy woodburner is ideal for the evenings after a day out walking in this spectacular scenery. We loved exploring the surrounding area, with some exceptional walks and many iconic places, such as Balmoral Castle, Braemar, and the head of the River Dee, to visit nearby. Highly recommended.
