Take a stroll to the village shop or pub, both just 500 meters away, or travel just 2 miles to the picturesque seaside village of Portreath with its sandy beach and historic harbour. The beach is popular with both swimmers, stand up paddleboarders, kayakers and surfers alike; it’s also ideal for families, dog walkers or anyone who wants to take advantage of the stunning Cornish coastline. Portreath has an array of shops, pubs, and restaurants and the beach is dog friendly (with some seasonal restrictions). There are numerous walks from your doorstep, ideal for those after a more active break. Explore the famous South West Coast Path or Coast-to-Coast cycle trail from here. Superb central location offers easy access to visit west and mid Cornwall including St Ives (16 miles), Truro (10 miles), Perranporth (11 miles), Newquay (18 miles) and the National Trust’s Godrevy (7.5 miles)

Step inside through the stunning bespoke stained glass front door into the perfect blend of history and modern comforts throughout. With exposed stone walls and deep window sills, this is a beautiful and comfortable cottage. Cosy up on the sofa and armchairs in front of the wood burner and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV. Head through to the kitchen which is equipped with everything you will need for your holiday including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. There is also a utility area equipped with a washing machine and WC. From the kitchen, the dining room has plenty of seating for all to enjoy a lazy breakfast or have a special family meal. Stairs rise to the landing from the lounge where you will find two bedrooms: one bunk bedroom ideal for children, and a super-king-size bedroom. The super-king room is spacious and light with a Smart TV, plenty of storage and hanging space. At the rear of the property is the further bedroom with a king size bed and views across the countryside towards St Agnes and a modern and contemporary family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Outside, from the utility area, is the enclosed garden with a terrace with seating, where you can dine alfresco with the charcoal BBQ on the go. There's also an area of lawn and a variety of mature shrubs and plants with farmland beyond the garden.

The cottage is well located in the lovely village of Illogen to explore Cornwall. The cottage has a lovely homely feeling and is well laid out. The owners made contact prior and towards the end of our holiday and if there had been any issues, which there wasn't we would have been able to let them know.

This property is very comfortable. The bed is very comfortable, which is great. It was nice to receive a welcome pack too. For our stay it was in a good location for the places we wanted to visit.

The cottage was lovely. From the moment we opened the front door, we were very pleased with the furnishings and facilities throughout. Everything was super clean, & of good quality. The kitchen equipment was everything that we could need. The welcome pack was very welcome, because it meant that we did not need to immediately go to the shops. IllogaRead moren is a very quiet village, but has a small Morrison supermarket for essential provisions. It has easy access to the A30 for going further afield. Hide

The cottage is located well for exploring all round Cornwall. It is very well equipped for your stay and clean and tidy. The layout is good with a good sized garden to the rear and off road parking on the front garden

We had a fantastic time at Wild Rose Cottage. The cottage was spotless when we got there. I had, had messages from Rose the owner before getting to the cottage. Rose and her family have thought of everything. There was a lovely welcome basket waiting for my family and my dog. This is such a great touch that make you feel special. Yet another great stay at Wild Rose Cottage. This ticks all the boxes for a great stay in Cornwall - central location, off road parking, lots of amenities nearby, clean and spacious. Really feels like our second home.

Lovely cottage in an area that we have not been to before, located within a five minute drive from the now finished A30 nightmare, and ideally situated for exploring deepest darkest Corwall. Communication with Rose was excellent and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this property!!!

I highly recommend this cottage. The owners supply pretty much anything you need for a special holiday. The cottage has a beautiful garden, with area for catching up after a long day with a cold glass of wine. The location is second to none, with the A30 within 5 mins drive.

Lovely cottage and very friendly owner. Authentic Cornish village location. Handy Morrisons at the end of the road. Clean and comfortable cottage with some modern features eg extra charging ports for devices (kids appreciated!) Local fish and chip shop really nice (expect a queue). Dog walking - seasonal dog ban on Portreath beach for a couple of mRead moreonths of the year 10-6 but half hour drive to Fistral Beach. Would recommend. Highly recommend Globe Vale holiday park for food - delicious. Hide

We loved staying in the cottage, it is beautifully decorated, comfortable and very well equipped. The garden is great, attractive and very secure for my small dogs, we enjoyed sitting out there on warmer evenings. The shower is excellent, the bed was huge and very comfortable.
