Close to the pretty village of Overton, this spacious bungalow - which has been divided into two comfortable cottages - is the ideal base for exploring. The village has shops, cafe, a pub and garage, while the vibrant towns of Wrexham and Llangollen are also nearby. Visit Bangor on Dee, which is famed for its racecourse, or take a trip on the horse-drawn canal boat in Llangollen. The National Trust properties Chirk Castle and Erddig are also within easy reach, as is Wales’ highest waterfall, Pistyll Rhaeadr, with its impressive 73 metre cascade. Keen walkers will also be happy to discover the Maelor Way and Berwyn mountains.

Relax and unwind after a busy day exploring in the cottage lounge with its wood burner, where you can snuggle up on the sofa and watch the TV or use the DVD. In the well-equipped kitchen/diner, you’ll find an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, as well as a large dining table should you choose to stay in for your evening meal. Meanwhile in the utility room you’ll find a washing machine. The cottage has three bedrooms: one super-king-size with an en-suite shower and WC, one double, and one king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request) with a Jack and Jill bathroom with a shower, bath and WC. There’s also a separate WC.

In the large orchard, which is shared with the adjoining cottage, there’s garden furniture and a BBQ - great for summer evenings.

Barbara welcomed us when we arrived and there was milk, butter and cheese from the farm and bread in the cottage. The cottage is spacious and the beds very comfortable. Fab cottage/bungalow on a working farm just outside Overton. Well equipped. Super comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Ideally located especially to National Trust Powis Castle and Erddig House. Many thanks for a lovely stay in Orchard cottage. Barbara, the host, met us on arrival and took us to the cottage. There was everything we needed and was very comfortable and more spacious than we imagined. A lovely touch was the milk, cheese, butter and bread which we enjoyed.

Fabulous cottage in a great location. The owner left us bread, milk, butter and cheese, so thoughtful. The children enjoyed watcing the cow massager. Lovely setting and very peaceful. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved watching the variety of birds from the kitchen window. The Cottage is beautiful and the 2 big bedrooms are huge. The sofas are comfy and everything was clean and tidy. We were especially grateful for the fresh provisions and loved meeting the dogs. Wonderful holiday cottage with all needs catered for. The rooms are large and well equipped. The kitchen is spacious with plenty of utensils. The outside space calls for you to site outside and enjoy the garden and the numerous birds. The bungalow is in a quiet location with safe parking. It is in easy reach of Llangollen and for a slightly longer Read moretrip to the Welsh coast or the Snowdonia National Park. The scenery is spectacular. Also helpful that the owners are on site. 10/10! Flawlessly clean and perfect in comfort, from a good nights sleep to handy en-suites. The owners went above and beyond in making sure you have all you need in this beautiful and spacious bungalow. They accommodated us from a very last minute cancellation from a previous cottage but we couldnt have been happier. A most enjoyable week at Orchard cottage. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners were warm and welcoming, we really appreciated the lovely butter, milk,cheese and bread left for when we arrived. The beds were comfortable, all rooms are spacious and cozy. We did pick a wet week to stay, but still had a lovely time. Cottage clean, beds lovely and plenty of kitchen equipment. We watched the birds, squirrel and two peacocks in the orchard, enjoyed the cooking apples and peace. Wonderful guests and very helpful. Thank you

The cottage was lovely. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
