Walk along Waterside and hire a boat, or simply just watch the world go by in one of the cafes along the riverbank. England’s oldest attraction, Mother Shipton’s Cave, is also right by the side of the river. The 12th century castle ruins and museum are also worth a visit along with the stunning Bebra gardens with summer paddling pool. A short drive away is Harrogate, home to Bettys Tea Rooms, Turkish Baths and the stunning Valley Gardens as well offering an elegant mix of boutiques and galleries, not to mention the vast selection of eateries.

As you approach the property, via its own pathway to the front door, you will instantly feel welcome. As you enter, hang your coats up it’s time to relax as you head through to the cosy lounge, where you can enjoy an open fire on a chilly evening, here you can play games, watch a film on the Smart TV or a DVD or simply plan the next day’s activities. Budding chefs will love the kitchen which is stylishly finished in ivory wood and accessorised with aquamarine appliances. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and gas hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. A ground floor shower room with shower, heated towel rail and WC completes the ground floor. The house was perfect for our requirements, well maintained and equipped. For a larger party than ours the outside space is a bit restrictive for sitting out.

Good location. Heating excellent. Cottage in the main was okay but really disappointed that for Christmas week there were no decorations........first time this has happened in over ten years of renting property at this time of year. The website photos gave impression of space - six people would find it a struggle. Lacked any clothe hanging space inRead more very tiny bathroom/shower room. Disliked position of shower room, straight off the kitchen with no window. Main bed too soft. Hide

This was a lovely house in a good location - about a 15-minute walk to the centre. There is a good bus route to Harrogate with a bus stop nearby.. The house was well equipped, and the real fire was lovely. The house was very clean and the decor was lovely. A few things could have been added such as a mirror in the smaller room and somewhere to hang Read moreclothes in this room. Perhaps a TV in the bedrooms, but these are just relatively little things. All in all a lovely place. I would stay again. Hide
