Overlooking the glorious Washburn Valley in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this fantastic property makes a great base for families, friends, keen walkers and cyclists seeking to explore the miles of moorland and woodland available from the doorstep. There are also several delightful towns and quaint villages to explore throughout the area, all with a great range of pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes, including Otley (4 miles), Ilkley (10 miles), Pateley Bridge (12 miles) and the historic Victorian spa town of Harrogate (10 miles). Among the many local attractions to discover are the National Trust's Brimham Rocks, RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr and Harewood House (all within 10 miles), Bolton Abbey (13.5 miles) and Fountains Abbey (18 miles).

 

Stepping into this beautiful property you will find a light, spacious and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With a cosy wood burner and plenty of comfortable seating, the lounge is an ideal space to relax in and enjoy a movie on the TV which also has Netflix. There's an attractive dining area, and the charming kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The washing machine and tumble dryer are kept in a nearby utility room. Exploring the ground floor further, there are two cosy bedrooms: the first features a king-size bed and double aspect windows, and the second is a twin room with two single beds. These two rooms share the ground-floor shower room which is complete with a large walk-in shower room and WC. Heading up the bespoke wooden staircase you will find a stunning and spacious master bedroom, with a super-king-size bed and a private south-facing decked area with a glass balcony allowing you to enjoy lovely country views. There is also bathroom complete with a freestanding bath and a separate walk-in monsoon shower.

 

Heading outside you can relax in the private hot tub which is located on the wooden deck at the front of the lodge. There's also plenty of furniture for you to sit back and enjoy a drink as you look out over the fantastic rural views. There are five acres of grounds to explore, with streams, a packhorse bridge and a pond, and plenty of animals including sheep and cows roaming freely and grazing in the adjoining fields.

Absolutely lovely - the lodge, the grounds, the location and the wildlife is beautiful - even had a doe and her fawn grazing in the garden. Recommend Brimham Rocks - awesome - and The Sun Inn Norwood for a retro basket meal!

We had a great stay, lots of things in the surrounding areas to do, with lovely country walks. The hot tub is a great addition, very spacious upstairs bedroom and bathroom.

Absolutely perfect. Location is fabulous. The lodge is well equipped and the decor is to a superb standard. The hot tub is also delightful. In addition the hosts left clear instructions and were super responsive. We will be back.

A well-equipped and beautifully decorated property with thoughtful touches throughout, such as cosy blankets enabling us to enjoy the balcony and outdoor space even on chilly October evenings. Great cottage especially for a multi-generational holiday. Very well equipped, warm & cosy & dog friendly too. Easily big enough for 6 adults with a large living room/open plan kitchen with beautiful views of the countryside including the resident deer in the garden. The large hot tub was a welcome addition. As we wrote in the guest book, our stay at Willow Cottage was awesome. Well equipped and beautifully decorated cottage in a great location; surrounded by nature and even its own pond!
