Situated in the lovely fishing village of Appledore with views of the coastal river estuary, this property is within a short stroll of the picturesque quayside, cobbled lanes, independent shops and galleries. A variety of café’s, pubs and restaurants in the village offer a wide range of cuisine and local seafood. Take a coastal walk through the Northam Burrows Country Park or a rural walk along the Tarka Trail, both less than 3 miles away and showcase the spectacular coastline and rolling countryside the area is famed for. Beach lovers are well-catered for with miles of golden sands at Westward Ho!, Instow (optional seasonal ferry from Appledore) and Saunton Sands (18 miles). Other local attractions include RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal, Tapeley Park, the Milky Way and The Big Sheep adventure parks and shopping at Atlantic Village.

This fabulous property has been lovingly fitted and furnished in a beautiful contemporary style mixing industrial chic and coastal charm. Arranged over three floors, you enter the accommodation via the top floor, where you will find the first bedroom that has delightful views across the estuary, a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request), complete with Smart TV and DAB clock radio. There is also a cosy bunk bedroom on this floor (suitable for children under 12 only), as well as a bathroom, with shower over bath and WC. Heading downstairs to the first floor, you will find the spacious and welcoming lounge/ kitchen/ diner. The light and airy lounge is ideal for snuggling down and enjoying the Smart TV, DAB radio with Bluetooth and also has views across the estuary. Heading over to the stylish and attractive kitchen, you will find everything you might need including electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The elegant dining area with character dining table is ideal for family meals. Moving down to the ground floor, you will find the master bedroom, complete with super-king-size bed, Smart TV, DAB clock radio and en-suite shower room with WC and underfloor heating. Both bathrooms are complete with demister mirrors and shaver sockets. The washing machine is located next to the shower room.

From the lower hall and master bedroom, doors lead out to the delightful enclosed tiered patio garden, complete with garden furniture on each level. At the top of the garden is the sun room with seating and views overlooking the estuary - perfect for those early evening aperitifs! The private adjacent driveway is available for one car and there is an additional space shared with the neighbour available on a first come first served basis. You can use the lockable garden shed for storing bikes and wetsuits etc. The garden also has gated rear access.

Lovely house and in a great location. It was particularly helpful to have parking as a lot of properties in Appledore do not have this. The house the clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the huge bed with a lovely view. Would recommend

Lovely village to stay. Nice accommodation unless you have mobility problems as there were lots of stairs. Clean and comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay - the house was clean and very well equipped. Great location with lots of places to visit nearby, the children particularly enjoyed going over on the ferry to Instow to the pretty sandy beach. Also Clovelly is worth a visit as is Saunton Sands. We discovered the lifeboat station in Appledore on our last day where there are lRead moreots of rock pools and a big beach at low tide so fun for the kids. Thanks for a great stay! Hide

Comfortable and well equipped cottage with great views over the estuary. Garden tables for eating out and sunroom a bonus. A great base for a family holiday in Devon with many beaches and attractions within a short drive.

Upside is lovely, ideal for 2 , 6 would be a squash. Garden is lovely and sunny. Our 2 nd time running to Upside, the owners have redecorated since, great to have a parking space

Upside is tastefully furnished, well located, had everything we needed, including a parking space, and really does have great views from the middle and top floor over the estuary. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The terraced garden has different seating areas as the sun moves round. Our weather wasn't brilliant, but Read morewe managed one breakfast outside in the sun plus a couple of early evening drinks. Appledore's delightful with many weekly music events in pubs. Hide

Upside is a really great property, in a lovely location with the advantage of a parking space. The bed we used on the upper floor was really comfortable with a wonderful view across to Instow. Everything has been thought of for a memorable holiday. We were lucky with the weather for the 2weeks we spent there, so we were out and about every day.
