This charming cottage is set in a peaceful location alongside the river in the village of Powerstock. Tucked in a pretty valley between the nature reserve of Powerstock common and Eggardon hill, many walking and cycling routes can be found leading from the door, taking in the picturesque landscape that this area is renowned for. There are two pubs within 500 metres, you’ll be only 5 miles from the coast and close to numerous popular attractions, including West Bay, the South West Coast Path, Bridport, which has a bustling market and vintage shops, or immerse yourself in the picturesque charm of Lyme Regis. Here you can admire the historic Cobb harbour and wander around the many independent shops.

From the laneside parking area a path leads you to the front door, which opens into a welcoming hallway. Immediately to your left is a cosy lounge/diner with Smart TV and wood burner. Just next door is the country style kitchen, which overlooks the garden. To the right of the hallway is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC. A flight of stairs lead up to the first floor, where you will find a charming king-size bedroom and a twin room, both are spacious and have views over the countryside.

Heading outside from the kitchen you will find the enclosed garden with terrace and lawn. Ideally positioned behind the cottage it’s the perfect space to enjoy a meal, or perhaps drinks in the evening. There is also an adjacent, open lawn area with seating alongside the river, which runs nearby (care is to be taken with children and pets), creating the perfect setting for relaxed days.

Bridge cottage was perfect, it felt like a home to home and very clean. Also it was a great location with only a 10 minute walk to the pub which was very welcoming.

This was a lovely place to stay but not ideal for those with mobility issues especially at night as the bathroom was on the ground floor and the stairs were rather steep.

the cottage was very well equipped but if you are self catering there is no place to put dried food only a fridge and bread bin so food had to be left out on the counter, all the kitchen cupboards were full of cups dishes and other kitchen stuff. The wall to either pub for food was up hill so older people may find it a challenge. The beds were comfRead moreortable and the enclosed garden was good for the dog. Hide

Beautiful cottage with a safe enclosed garden and access to a larger flat area next to a stream. Well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. All upstairs windows needed to be wide open during warm nights so I would imagine it is cosy and warm in the winter. The roads around are single track with high borders and few passing areas.
