This property enjoys a tranquil rural location on a working beef and sheep farm, and offers scenic countryside walks directly from the cottage’s front door. One of these walks, a pleasant forty-minute woodland route, brings visitors to the seaside village of Lee Bay, with its small sandy beach, rocky cove, and village pub, which prides itself on serving local ales and organic wine, as well as offering traditional Devonshire cream teas, alongside a more traditional pub menu. The popular sandy beach at Woolacombe is just two miles away, and other family-friendly beaches, such as Croyde and Saunton Sands are within easy reach. Other attractions in the local area include the Combe Martin Wildlife Park, Exmoor National Park, and the South West Coast Path which is just over a mile from the cottage. And don't forget to explore the Tarka Trail by bicycle which runs directly through the farm. Best of all, right on your door step the owners have a sheepdog and falconry display (June to August) and farmyard shows (July to August). More details can be requested on booking.

This quaint cottage is entered via the front door into an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with comfortable sofa and armchairs arranged around the Smart TV/DVD. The dining table, seating four, is situated in the window, offering lovely views over the farmland and the surrounding countryside, whilst the kitchen area is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. Steep, cottage-style stairs lead to the bedrooms on the first floor. The first of these is a restful super-king size zip and link bed (can be a twin on request)  whilst the second bedroom is a bunk bedroom. The modern shower room is also on the first floor, and offers a shower and WC.

Outside, there is a lawned garden with seating and a BBQ, which makes a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and the views across to the bay and even across to South Wales on a fine day.

Comfortable and clean cottage in quiet location with lovely views over fields to the sea. Super comfortable king size bed and excellent hot shower. Owners on site and reacted promptly to any queries. Private enclosed garden great for dogs and also close to a cycle walkway which is also good for dog walkers.

We and our dog enjoyed our week at Borough Valley Cottage. Good location and not far to travel for exploring Lee Bay, Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Ilfracombe and Croyde with the Tarka Trail just up from the farm. It was so lovely to be able to sit in the garden after days out and also watch the sheep or cows out of the window. The cottage was quietRead more, cosy and had all that we needed. Debbie was very helpful and the cottage had heaters going on arrival so nice and warm plus tea/coffee, milk and biscuits, always nice after a long drive. She also advised how best to walk to Lee Bay. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and would rate this one of the best. Hide

Perfect location to enjoy woolacombe and surrounding areas. The cottage was well equipped, hairdryer, iron, washing machine, just lacking in wardrobe space. We expected noise as it's located on a working farm, so wasn't too bothered with the dogs barking outside, however because the cottage is attached to the house with only a normal wooden door wiRead moreth a lock as separation the noise from the dogs barking and howling in the house was very loud!! What a great location! A comfortable property in a scenic area, adjoining a busy working farm. However, in the evening it was quiet and very peaceful. Close to Woolacombe (and the excellent beaches). There were some Wi-Fi issues while we were there, but our internet improved significantly with the new router. If you enjoy farms and animals there arRead moree cows in the nearby field and plenty of border collies around. The sheepdog and falconry display was great! We liked the Mist (sheepdog) DVDs! Hide

What a fantastic place to stay! The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was immaculately clean and so cosy.
