Situated in the traditional Dorset seaside village of Charmouth, this gated holiday complex offers a selection of well thought out, purpose-built accommodation within these converted former farm buildings. With onsite leisure facilities for all ages, the property is also conveniently located just a short stroll from the village amenities and Charmouth beach. Also nearby is the wonderful town of Lyme Regis, which offers a beautiful unspoilt seafront with sheltered south-facing beaches and traditional deckchairs that line the promenade in the summer. The Jurassic coastline has been designated as England's first Natural World Heritage Site and spans nearly one hundred miles of the Dorset and East Devon coastline. There are many attractions in the area including the charming resorts of Beer, Branscombe and numerous National Trust properties and gardens to name but a few.

On entering this pleasant single-level accommodation, which can be accessed via a wheelchair-friendly ramp, you will find yourself in the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With high ceilings and exposed beams, this room is a lovely bright space with French doors opening out to the patio. The lounge area is ideal for relaxing in where you can watch the TV/DVD, or enjoy meals around the large dining table. The attractive kitchen area is fully equipped with an integrated oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Exploring further you will find a useful utility room with a washer/dryer and a WC. The property offers two bedrooms, the first is a comfy king-size room with a TV and has French doors opening on to a small private, enclosed gravelled courtyard area. This room also has an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and WC. There is also a twin room with zip-and-link beds that can be made up as a super king-size bed upon prior request, as well as an en-suite wet room and WC.

Heading outside, you can relax in the small private patio area at the front of the property which has garden furniture, ideal for al fresco drinks or meals. Please note there is a small step up leading in to the patio area. Guests are invited to enjoy the neighbouring holiday park which includes a shared, covered outdoor heated swimming pool (available during specific dates only and not available all year, please refer to the 'need to know' section for details), Char Valley Café coffee shop which serves teas, coffees, milk shakes, ice creams and biscuits, and a shared outdoor children's play area. For a reduced charge and available to adults, is the well-equipped Char Valley Health Club, including a gym, indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

The pool is open 7 days a week in the main school summer holidays between 10am-5pm and closed for lunch. Details of the pool opening times outside of the summer school holiday period are available on request, please call for more information.

Overall a great cottage. Adequately equipped for self catering purposes. Owners are very friendly and helpful. I am disabled and had no problem getting around the property and the room we were in had a great wet room. The cottage is situated in a great position for exploring west Dorset and East Devon. The property needs a good spring clean and some decorating. It needs smartening up with some new cushions in the lounge and new equipment in the kitchen. The disability aids were a great help - the spacious shower with a generous sized seat and the rails by the toilet, the ramp outside and wide doorways for mobility aids. It was a pity that the shoRead morewer in the other bedroom was so small and the controls didnt work very well, they stuck. The bungalow is in a nice quiet position on the site. Hide

Great location to get into high street by foot and Royal Oak food was very nice but need to book. We were advised of other pubs in next village which were nice too and very knowledgeable. 3 night stop for my 50th comfy and would recommend to friends with persons with disabilities in their families great base to say and travel local in the day. This is a great property for anyone with accessibility needs. It is very spacious, incredibly clean and provides a good base for a holiday in West Dorset. Would highly recommend.

The cottage is beautifully laid out and great care has been taken to ensure that anyone with mobility problems can navigate it with ease. Charmouth is a delightful village, very well situated for exploring Dorset. We are looking forward to returning in the future.
