Situated in a coastal preservation area famous for its outstanding natural beauty with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean. It is in a quiet position with views over open countryside. National Trust land and coastal paths less than 10 minutes walk away where there is an abundance of wildlife. The property is approached by a private drive with 2 unfenced ponds. Locally there are many places to visit including The Tarka Trail, Clovelly, a unique cliffside fishing village and the nearby small town of Hartland, together with lots of good pubs and eating places within easy reach. There are interests for every age and taste.

A spacious fully self-contained annexe of the farmhouse, imaginatively decorated and well-equipped, the cottage offers one double bedroom with four-poster bed and en suite shower room with WC. The Lounge/Dining room with comfy leather sofa, TV and Freeview leads through into the well equipped Kitchen with electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave.

Heading outside you will be surrounded by countryside, ideal for long romantic strolls. There is also a large shared lawn area, perfect for a picnic with views to Hartland lighthouse across the Atlantic ocean.
Also, a bistro set can be found directly outside the cottage, perfect for a morning coffee. There is also a handy shared utility room: with washing machine and tumble dryer (tumble dryer by meter).

The cottage was clean and tidy. We wanted a quite and peaceful stay, and that's exactly what we had.

Like above the outside area is not what we expected it was overgrown. The photos of the cottages were taken a long time ago, i.e. the Phone box is just overgrown. Location is a bit too far out i.e. you have to drive everywhere.

We had a lovely week at the cottage and enjoyed the tranquility that the location has to offer. There is plenty to do in the area. The SW coastal path is literally a 10 minute walk away and local pub is about 15- 20 minutes. Bikes can be hired in nearby Bideford with direct access to the Tarka trail. Our host, Mrs Winter, was friendly, helpful and Read morewelcoming. She lives on site but you would hardly know she was there, the cottage felt very private. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Our stay and Summer Foley was ideal, peace and quiet yet close to the village of Abbotsham and the larger town of Bideford and the seaside of Westward Ho! so plenty for everyone including the walking especially along the nearby cliffs. The accommodation was set in a great location and had all we needed for a wonderful relaxing and comfortable stay Read moreincluding a Games Roo. All we can say is wow , if you love peaceful surroundings, lovely views, quiet countryside this is for you . We had a time , Mary was great could not do enough for us . Very good value, a well equipped accommodation only 10 minutes walk from the South West Coast Path and a short drive from other lovely places to explore. We loved the quietness and simplicity. Mary, the owner, is a delight and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending Summer Folly to you.

Charming, cottage, not modern but clean and comfortable with just about everything you need. Lovely location, quiet and peaceful with lovely views. Great location for visiting other places and close to footpaths for walking from the door, including to the coast path. Lovely host, helpful and full of local knowledge.

Comfortable cottage in a good and peaceful location. Walking distance to village pub (good food) and south west coast path. Host was welcoming and keen to help if needed.
