Walk up the dramatically painted and carpeted staircase to the apartment. Enter the lounge/dining space and you will immediately take in the wonderful sea views through the amazing feature windows. In this unique and welcoming room, you will find a comfortable sofa with a large footstool where you can sit and relax after days out exploring this popular seaside area; a Smart TV with a sound bar for your entertainment, and a dining table and seating for two, perfect for meals in together. The generous bedroom is just off the lounge with a super-king-size bed for a great night’s sleep and plenty of storage space. On this floor, you will also find the shower room, a separate WC, a fun alfresco bathtub, and a sauna where you can also enjoy a sea view. This is a fabulous and unique property. The surrounding area is lovely and the views from upstairs are something else. We also enjoyed visiting for gelato downstairs. We would 100% recommend this place and have done to many already. Its comfortable and done so cleverly inside its truly somewhere different to stay.

The views are just wonderful, people watching and seeing ships leaving the Mouth of the Tyne is so interesting. Sad to leave this stunning place, just packing our final bits before heading downstairs to The Molten Cafe. This whole building is fabulous, The Observatory on the top two floors is fabulous to stay in. The owners who also have the cafe dRead moreownstairs and the Glass Gallery are so nice. Amazing place with real wow factor and stunning views. Henry very helpful and it was great to get the history of the building which made the stay extra special. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby and about 15 min walk up to Tynemouth Station where there is great market on at weekends. Parking space also a bonus.

It is a stunning location and had everything we wanted. Sitting watching the river and the dog beach was lovely. Its also a great base. We were lucky with the weather so spent a day driving up the coast road finishing at Alnmouth. We also explored Tynemouth village and went to the market. A wonderful weekend and we will be back.

We had an amazing stay at The Observatory. This unique property was the perfect venue for a 30th wedding anniversary celebration. Its difficult to tear yourself away from the amazing view but if you do manage to get out, make sure you sample Henrys sumptuous home made Gelato in his cafe on the ground floor. Absolutely fantastic accommodation, a prefect location for exploring the area, lots of great restaurants especially for fish lovers !! We definitely want to return ! One of the most comfortable and relaxing places I've stayed in. Loved being near the fish quay and a scenic short walk to Tynemouth. Plenty of books, jigsaws and games on hand and the owner, Henry, was fascinating. We loved the gelato tasting too.

We had an amazing week. A quirky, comfortable, beautifully decorated staycation with amazing views - ideal for relaxing and just taking in the world as people and boats pass by. An amazing flat and the views are just breath taking. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and lots of them dog friendly. We really enjoyed food in the Shipscat. The coffee and home made cake from the Wheel House was also good too. Henry the owner was helpful and also provided us with some homemade gelato that was delicious. We will be back.
